In fairness, that injury was deflating and happened in the second quarter. OKC is so much better than Memphis that any change in fortune can tip the scale wildly… and it did.

Up by 26 at half.

36:18 third quarter (still up by 12)
27:13 fourth quarter- lose by 6

I just can't find excuses to not be able to hold onto 26 points lead at a half , in playoff game.
Bane going 2-10 in second half, Jackson dwarfing himself on very drive, playing like he is 5'5. You pay those dudes $60M a year.

Memhis is due to massive retool at summer. Their "big 3" is just painfully mediocre.

Grizz going to trade away Morant this summer and build around Pippen/Eddy/JJJ/Bane with all the draft capital/players they can get for him.

Would have to give up one of Suggs/Franz/Paolo, but I think Suggs, a couple 1sts and filler would do it. Magic would be dangerous with a PG like Morant. Just not sure how Morant and ball dominate Paolo would co-exist. Franz seems like he just fills in whatever the team needs so he would be fine.

Pros for staying: $400 000 000 , early playoff exit = more time for horses, more time to play soccer in Serbia

Cons: playing with Porter for rest of his good days, coaching coaches how to coach, having to watch owner's son few times a week, never sniffing near another title, living in Denver

Conclusion: Lakers new center

Maybe. But who is buyer for Porter and his $40M a year to play no defense and make wrong decisions 7/10 times ?
Who's buying Murray on $60M a year for 4 years?

You can potentially trade Murray, not impossible, maybe, maybeee Pistons would take Porter (Harris & Stewart straight up ? ).

But i have no clue what's the returning value?

I clicked on like 20 different nba teams to find suitor for Murray and i'm running low here.
McCullum & Murphy for Murray ? That trade does nothing for me.
Herro & Wiggins? Nuggets can only dream
Quickley & Barrett- to me this is no-go for Nuggets
Here's crazy one- Vleet & Eason for Murray :D

They are simply brutally overpaid , especially Murray, and trading him out is nightmare.

It would make sense for Toronto to trade Barnes for MPJ. That would make them a playoff team.

Quickley
Barrett
Ingram

Once Ja went down, I figured it would be a loss. Same with the Warriors and Rockets. Once one of your stars go down early, playing on the fly is a little difficult.

It would take our guards half the season to put up what Gary Trent did tonight my goodness.

Was one of my bargain options in the offseason, probably just earned himself a bit more money.

Crazy to look at what Trent and Beasley signed for last offseason. You can definitely still find competent shooting for cheap, not us though, we are not allowed to have that.

I would take Luke Kennard if at all possible. I mean anyone that can remotely shoot is sorely needed. The guys you mentioned were had for basically Corey Joseph/Gary Harris money.

Same. My top three targets were Klay, GTJ, and Hield

Those guys (and typically, those kind of guys) thrive next to a premier PG…otherwise, they’re just non-defending KCP or Caleb’s. We’d get the same shooting threat with more on-ball skill with Simons or CJ…which makes a lot more sense if they’re paired with Suggs instead of Dame or Curry or Kyrie or Cade.

I still like Simons a lot, leaving much of the playmaking with Franz & Paolo….but this year is also showing the value of ALSO having a pure PG on the roster, even just for a significant bench role- a better CoJo.
