The 5 who say it's a travel usually don't know the rules or are applying pre 2016 or high school / ncaa basketball rules.
Fans and streetball players take the longest to adjust. When I play pick up basketball it seems as though travel rules from the past are being used. I avoid using gather steps and such because it will lead to arguments. However, when I'm playing a league game with a FIBA referee I know they'll usually be up to date.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
