Beasley made 319 3's (2nd most this season) at 41.6% clip.

This series so far he's 9 for 30 so under 30% - 3 for 18 the last 2 games. If he's making shots like he normally does, that might not be a W yesterday.

Better distribution of FGA - especially when it's to an all NBA offensive stud & especially in crunch time - seems like it should be obvious. But I worry they will not have learned this lesson and Thibs will go back to the SMB offense

We should win in 6 if Thibs doesn't revert back to old ways.... Big if sadly.

Thibs didn't do anything revolutionary this game. Players just played better/smarter.

That's the problem. It's not revolutionary to run a competent offense instead of save me brunson like he's Lois Lane and Jalen is Clark Kent

I love the cut to Stewart at the end. He wanted to be fighting so bad.

Something that has struck me this series is that Paul Reed is a really strong dude and it's part of why Mitch looks so bad. Mitch is usually the strongest guy out there but Reed can push him around. That plus Mitch not quite having his legs under him is making him look even worse.

Still not stronger than KAT though.

For the most part they are making him work for his shots to get open now if thye could do that to him hardawat and shroeder all at once

IDK. He seems to be bricking a ton of open shots.

offense was sharp to start - felt like practice paid off or they had some scripted plays to start. virtually every shot was wide open in rhythm.

Like I said in the gamethread yesterday, the guy is a goddamn superhero and the best clutch player in the game. If you're not taking the time to appreciate him, you're missing out as a fan.

They did a great job adjusting to make sure the KAT got his feeding in this game too.

The thing is there is no need to do anything revolutionary. Just stop the iso hero ball. Move the ball, give Kat opportunities to score.

Sure, but they were moving with purpose and energy and looking to move the ball. Scheme wise, we didn't do anything different. We just executed it better.

In fact, when Duren was on KAT, we still didn't run many PnRs with KAT and Brunson, but it didn't matter really because we were doing other things well.

So yes, I agree that practicing probably helped, but the players mainly just played with more focus.

The NBA stats tracking says he's still getting 20% of his 3PT attempts as wide open - but it doesn't show me by game. We may have tightened up after game 1 when he went 6-12.

bickerstaff complained about how much time was/wasn't left on the clock after the foul on brunson at the very end. such nonsense because they shouldn't have even given them the call - brunson caught it and was tossing the ball in the air and beasley barely laid a hand on him - refs gave them the call early if anything could have easily just let the clock run out.

dakomish23 wrote:That KAT post up turnaround fadeaway to the baseline with 3 mins left that made it 108-101 was the bucket of the game. Then he followed it up with the huge block on Tobias.

He's been the best Knick this series even with his crappy game 2.

Agreed. If it was up to me he'd be taking 22+ shots every game. He literally can score in every imaginable way and his touch is really really good. If I had any say in how the team plays I'd make sure that KAT really is put into position to score 30 every night. He absolutely has the tools to do it and really the coaching staff has no excuse there...
