Wow, Memphis would have tied this one up if not for Morant going down.

If Kawhi had stayed, they likely would be... excluding Fred perhaps

That's correct. Kawhi has beef with Fvv
OG had beef with Fred too.

I'm really interested to see how this young but talented OKC team responds to adversity in playoffs. That won't happen until they face an experienced team that's fairly talented. I think OKC is super talented that it won't matter against most teams though.. maybe clippers or Celtics that's about it.

Think the Nuggets window is probably closed and they messed up by not trading MPJ before his value totally bottomed out like it is now. Also should've kept Malone on and canned Booth.

Jokic should ask out but maybe too loyal to do it.

Also think the Warriors and Nuggets have shown that the two-track thing where you try to make a run with young guys is a really foolish plan most of the time. It worked out for us as our young role players were legit but for the most part, the proven route is just loading the team up with vets and making the most of your star's primes while you can. Often times those young players aren't gonna be cornerstone pieces, so you're gonna have to rebuild anyway.

The Clippers took the right approach and it's paying off for them.

Sad but not surprised about Ja Morant. He is probably the most risk-taking player in the game the way he gets up for dunks. I think he hurt himself earlier in the year on a similar play.

I think Dort did a dangerous challenge but the combo of Morant jumping so high and not having a thicker frame to help him on fall is going to worsen his injuries.

I have always loved his game but he is so skinny and I just don't think he is a safe investment long term.

I wonder if he comes back, and I wonder where Memphis goes from here after a weird year.

zero reason it should matter against clippers healthy. Until last game, Clippers offense was pretty anemic against a bad Denver defense (kawhi shot making notwithstanding). They play DJJ/Dunn minutes, sometimes together. OKC only comp is Boston, they are the only team with elite offensive juice and still able to defend well enough. OKC are young but they are very talented 1-9. SGA just has to play like a superstar.

Denver has a great starting lineup but Murray probably isn’t suited as 2nd best player anymore it was miraculous what he’s done in the past but now you really need a legit second star.

Murray generally isn't good enough with the current competition, but the bigger problem right now is the REST of Denver not coming through.

I think we will go down as having a better title team than 21 Bucks or 23 Nuggets. The bench talent looks more ridiculous as time goes on.

I had known at that time or team was all time great. It was only the casuals on realgm that never gave us any credit.

Is that a thing? Who never gave us credit on this board? That team was stacked. I think we win even if KD is healthy.

Yeah lots of people on the General board. You should've read the Buck's board when they were up 2-0 in the series. They were sooooooooooo cocky

^^Oh yeah other fans for sure. They underrate that team. I don't know how you still can after watching these playoffs. Kawhi shining. Pascal, Norm and Fred playing well. OG was injured and is showing his value. And that's not including Marc, Lowry, Green, and Serge. Great team.

Lowkey the Bucks might be in defcon 4

They have nobody under contract other than Giannis, Lillard, Kuzma, AJ Green, Andre Jackson, Chris Livingston, Tyler Smith, Ryan Rollins and a bunch of two ways. You'll notice I had to list first, last because no one would know who these guys were if listed by only last name. None of these guys are netting anyone substantial in trade.

They have no real trade assets and the rest of their vets have player options heading into the offseason and will probably decline to get more money or leave for a better situation (I think Portis leaves to LA or another contending team).

IF Giannis gives any inkling he wants out they might as well blow it up and sell on Lillard and Giannis this off season. This team has a high floor but the ceiling is not too much higher

Lillard 2 pts, 1 for 8, 0-5 from 3. They gifted the Celtics a championship when they traded jrue. They ended their championship window by trading for Lillard.
