He’s very underrated as a receiving threat as well. Would imagine he’ll be a fan favorite with the way he plays

He can punt too! Look it up, he could hit 50 yards!
And he can throw the ball well. Nice just in case.

the internet is pretty good at this. if there was some connection to the prank callers and a coach/team should be pretty easy to find.

Wide receiver in round 4. Arian Smith, a speedster, but might need some polish in the other areas.

Does he have a decent route tree? We don't need another Hyatt

We need to find a WR2 badly

I only know what the brief write-up said. Routs are fine. Hands and physicality are bad. Needs work.

The Jets are drafting for the future, not 2025 so I'm OK with this.

Rating: 65.12 (Practice squad)
Pro Comparison: Phillip Dorsett
Summary
Arian Smith is a blazing-fast, twitchy vertical threat with elite top-end speed and flashes of route-running potential, but he’s an older, highly specialized prospect with major concerns at the catch point. He accelerates effortlessly and can eat cushion in an instant, making him a constant deep-ball threat, yet his hands are unreliable and his college production was minimal. While he flashes some hip sink and short-area quickness, his functional strength and YAC skills are limited, projecting him as a speed-based role player with developmental upside.

About
2024: Led Georgia in receiving yards (817)
2024: 17.0 yards/reception (10th in SEC)
Strengths
Speed to instantly eliminate cushion and separate vertically
Burst allows him to win vs. press at times
Showed promise as nuanced route-runner
Weaknesses
Very inconsistent hands
Lean frame hurts him against physical CBs
Older for developmental type
Combine Data
40-yard dash: 4.36 seconds
Vertical jump: 38 inches
20-yard shuttle run: 4.19 seconds
Broad jump: 10 feet, 7 inches
3-cone drill: 6.82 seconds
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

I don't know what happened, but one guy posts a tweet that he's not that projectable and NFL concerns are significant.

An article I read said that he'll return to college rather than get picked late and sign.

I can see a player falling, if they aren't very projectable. (I wish that had happened with Zach Wilson, but it didn't) and I'm not saying Shedeur = Zack Wilson, because that's a terrible thing to say about anyone, but I understand falling in the draft. And I understand signability issues.

I have a hard time believing that this is anywhere close to Kap collusion, and man, I love Kap. The man is a hero who doesn't get enough credit. The NFL did blackball him, but I have a hard time seeing it here, unless there's some stuff we don't know about, like Shedeur absolutely blowing multiple interviews or something.

I tend to believe the "pay me first round money or don't pick me" theory. That makes the most sense. I assume more details will emerge in time.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

This is what i was saying earlier. If that McShay report is even remotely true, that's a horrible look to walk into that interview unprepared and it's a self inflicted wound.

someone just traded from mid 140's to upcoming pick with just adding a 7th rounder

maybe we can go to mid 150's soon to a spot coming up for him with a 7th.

lets just say he had a bad interview with Daboll. Thats just one team. It would be kinda crazy for him to bomb nearly every interview unless he just took the entire draft process unseriously...

If you're a team that didn't have a 1st round grade on him, I can see the case you'd make for taking other QBs on day 2 ahead of him, because they have better physical traits to try and develop.

All that goes out the window when the Browns are taking Dillon Gabriel ahead of him.

At that point you either don't want the perceived distraction (a la Michael Sam) or there is collusion.

It would be big media attention for a guy that is likely to be QB2 or QB3 and maybe teams don't want that distraction, so I might buy that a bit. I'm not ruling out collusion but GM/HC jobs are short term and volatile if a player can help you win would everyone just agree to not draft him? And how does one go about doing it league wide?

We have seen actual bad human beings (SS is clearly not that) drop and still be drafted because of talent. But that was off the field stuff...did SS really sour the entire league on even believing he would buy into there program? I think you mentioned before draft that at one point this was Deion/SS maybe trying to dictate where they would go (Eli type situation)...then they clearly changed there tune leading up to open up to more teams...but were the bridges already burned???

Browns go Shedeur!

which is even more wild because they picked another QB in this draft over him who wasn't even perceived to be close to his talent level...

I guess using them in Madden paid off.

They are still going after Cousins and targeting a QB next year though, so I wonder what this looks like if he doesn't grab hold of that job quickly.
