I know this is sarcasm but this is why I don't get the people upset we didn't keep our pick this year, unless they didn't understand the future pick situation. By giving this one up we ensured we didn't give up a potential future lottery pick, which considering how uncertain this squad's future is, could have been far more devastating. Imagine we get another decent player at #8 or whatever, but he doesn't truly move the needle, the team falls apart, we get a top 3 pick in 2028... but oops now we owe that pick fully unprotected in a draft with a LeBron or Joker type talent.

There was no perfect scenario, but giving up the pick this year was probably the right move.

Mobley’s definitely a good player, similar numbers to Bam when he was 23 and everything is so easy when your offense is created for you by elite playmakers

Nobody is glazing Tyler, but your obsession with Bam is getting obnoxious he's like the only guy you watch on the floor. Even when Twix was doing a good job of breaking down video to explain our offensive woes all you could focus on was Bam.

Hamster banana pic was right.

Nah I watch the whole game and understand the entire game on a deeper level than most, I played at a higher level than majority if not all as well. I understand what’s going on. I’m not even ragging on Tyler, this has been the norm for his playoffs and I expected it. I was just pointing out the double standards and constant scapegoating

It's in a fans nature to root for your team to win, but I think we can all agree that winning 2 road play-in games wasn't worth it.

tbf Garland was the one guy you could target on offense, so him missing the game became a curveball

In fairness to him, he is coming off of an injury and hasn't played in what? 2 months?

But, yeah, I've long said he (and Ware) were not as good as they've been hyped to be by some.

So Pat Riley is inept and an 80 year old shouldn't be running a pro franchise?

Funny thing is people used to criticize Spo's reluctance to play youth, but I'd actually argue Ware and Jovic are benefiting from playing time they wouldn't get on a lot of other teams. I don't wanna rag on them too hard, but they're that perfect combination of tantalizing physical attributes (extreme height/length and athleticism in Ware's case) along with unique skillsets, that makes you envision what they could be instead of what they are.

I have no problem with how the pick situation turned out. Moreso that we have a number of people clamoring on here to trade picks, assets in the offseason for win-now moves like Durant, Zion, Anfernee Simons, etc when this team is nowhere close to competing.

A team built around Bam and Herro will never go anywhere and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. They’re just not good enough players.

I'm not saying they're bad, I'm saying I don't see them as having the ceiling some people project. And I am definitely not opposed to dealing them for a Durant or some other really good player if that is what is needed to improve the roster. In general, I think most posters here are against that idea.

Once again the only silver lining here is playoff minutes and experience for the young guys. Play 'em all big minutes!

Nah I'm agreeing with you, just pointing out its ironic that people are seeing this potential (that may or may not ever come to fruition) because Spo is finally doing what people said he'd never do, play the youth.

Don’t let us get within ten.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Donovan Mitchell is 2/11 for 6 points and Garland not even playing and we can't even make it a game lol.

I actually disagree I think Ware has way more potential than Jovic you cant teach that size. He just reacts slow and puts himself in awkward spots. He has more potential than Bam imo

You're wrong about Ware.

He's got insane upside, simply because he’s the best athlete on this team. His combine numbers were absolutely nuts — nearly 7'0" in shoes, 7'4" wingspan, around 230 pounds, and a 36-inch vertical leap. That kind of size + athleticism combo is incredibly rare.

Most guys his height either lack mobility, explosion, or coordination — Ware has all three. His movement skills at that size are special, and that’s the kind of physical foundation you just can’t teach. With good development and added strength, his ceiling is way higher than a lot of people realize.

He needs a few more years, but he’s got 20/10 on good efficiency with high level defense written all over him. Could be a real difference maker for them down the line.
