Yeah nobody on this team is safe I’m glad we made the playoffs and control our pick next year. Wouldn’t be the worst idea to just dump both Herro+Bam for picks and tank. Might need to hit the reset button
Spo to the front office let the Gundy Bros come in and Coach this team while they suck for a bit

I think that they used your corner three hypothesis. The problem is they did it wrongly. Instead of simply having Bam, Ware, Highsmith work on making those when they get them, they put Tyler out there and (I guess?) hoped the Cavs would leave his body so he'd get those corner threes.
Problem is, if its not Tyler creating from the top or wing, the other team's defense barely moves. So we just effectively removed him from the offense all together, with no as effective scorer/creator to replace him with.

Saudades.

Or even better, 3 1sts and not much salary coming back with a NTC leading to trade exceptions that we could just let expire from Philly last summer

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 9
It’s kind of hard to be firm on what we should do without knowing where the front offices mindset is. Like do they plan on adding the talent to turn this thing around this summer or summer 2026? I mean like actually be aggressive in the trade market and hopefully hit some home run cheap veteran signings. If so then let’s run it and build a contender.
But if they have no plans of drastically improving the roster with a true 1st option AND the supporting pieces who can play both sides of the ball so we don’t have to worry about anyone outside of Herro being hunted by this summer or next then you definitely have to cash in on Bam right now and maybe Herro if you can find someone with interest in him. Might be the best time to sell high on him

Trade Bam to OKC for our 25 back.
Trade Herro for our 27 back.

So looks like with Cleveland sticking to Herro on the perimeter and collapsing and sending doubles on Bam when he gets the ball inside the arc Spo is going to run even more actions for Wiggins to maybe try and open them up more I guess lol?
Spo admitting he’s not doing a good job coaching the offense, maybe he agrees that getting a high level offensive mind on his staff this summer would be best for the team, especially if they add a star

The Heat ran screens to give Herro a mismatch defender it worked numerous times. But Herro flat out stunk when he got Allen and Wade defending him one on one out on the perimeter. Herro needs to stop doing that bad wide slow cross over dribble. Not one time did the team in general look like they knew the plays which is mind boggling. It felt like the joked around during practice the past two days and it showed on the court.

This was a chance for Bam and Herro to prove themselves as players who can carry the team. They flunked in so many levels.

Through 3 games I think Mitchell has honestly been our best player.

I know, I was just echoing your point. This series was an opportunity for one or both Bam and Herro but neither has really seized it.

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 9
Mitchell has been our best player this series. He’s done an amazing job identifying mismatches for himself on the perimeter and taking advantage of them attacking the rim to score or collapse the defense.
This is what I thought we would be getting from Herro and especially Wiggins. They have small guards and dont really have anyone on the perimeter you would view as a defensive guy but they are just flat out locking them up. With Wiggins being 6’8 long and a freak athlete it felt like he would thrive in this matchup. My hope for Herro was that his regular season success would finally translate to the playoffs but it’s been more of the same when we’ve gotten to this point.
We were going to have a battle with the bigs in Mobley/Allen vs Bam/Ware but it seemed to me the perimeter is where we were going to thrive with their lack of defenders. It’s been good experience for Ware at least and it’s solidified Mitchell is a Heat guy so hopefully we get a good deal on him

Probably. This is a horribly constructed roster and I’m not sure there’s a way to fix it if the front office isn’t locked in and proactive in building a contender. We just try to strong arm everyone into making deals and that’s not going to work. If you can get that number 1 option and a high level playmaker (if that playmaker isn’t the 1st option you add) with some defensive role players that can knockdown 3s so Herro is the only god awful defender on the court at all times then we might be on to something. We’re a lock every year for a top 10 defense, we need that offensive infusion BAD and it starts with a high level playmaker and true first option.
Just compare the shot quality their shooters and their bigs are getting compared to ours. Drive and kicks to open shooters or blow bys on the perimeter forcing our bigs to step up leaving simple dumps offs and easy scores for their bigs. The shot quality is night and day from the eye test, I wish I knew how to find the numbers

Funny enough the 8th seed Memphis best player has also been their backup PG this series.

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 9
blow it up i just think i cant handle another poor azz season. with these players, its time to rebuild from TOP TO BOTTOM. FO should start by firing themselves by getting this poor show running
edit: pat riley must go and so spoelstra they cant attract anyone here because of what happened with lebron and now jimmy. until these ppl are let go we are going to be the laughingstock of the league because the game has past them
