Yeah of all teams to talk about fights... doesnt he realize who he is talking to? This isnt the Vuc-era buddyball Magic.

This team might be spouting that Family stuff alot but guys like Suggs KCP Goga would have no 2nd thoughts about jumping into a scrum.

Heavily contested spot up 3, because Franz for no reason passed wide open corner 3

This is one from my picture. He recived ball with 0,7 sec left with 2 men contesting it

32 min, 3 FGA. One transition FGA and two hot potatoes served by teammates.

And this isn't really nothing new.

Spoiler:
Game 2

First shot ( after 0 FGA in first quarter)

Running jump shot mid range, self created offense

He got SOME good looks and missed it, but whole bunch of his shots come when others simply don't want to take bad shots, so they give it up to him in impossible situation to score.

You and I just have different interpretations of bad shots. I don’t think a guy running at you from 5, 10 feet makes it a shot you can’t make. Most shots are contested and players practice drills for such occasions. Even these last second shorts weren’t poor shots. Would you prefer not to have seconds to shoot sure, but it’s not like he was throwing heaves. These were done with great rhythm and follow through. KCP is a 3D guy these are shots he is supposed to make.

Shooting with a defender coming at you or shooting with time pressure is different with an uncontested shots.

I do agree that KCP should be making those shots, regardless. But to look at it objectively, the shots KCP is taking with the Nuggets vs the Magic are indeed different. And that’s what separates contenders and pretenders, jokic and Paolo.

like this is what i'm talking about, like why is this necessary to say? you could've cut that part out completely and the point would convey perfectly.....just out of nowhere stray for no reason

Just for sake of argument, to avoid some "call outs", Paolo and Franz aren't reason why shooters aren't getting good looks.
Roster construction without PG and coaching that has no offensive system are problem.

This is type of shots OKC craetes for Joe

https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=181&GameID=0042400144&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=MISS%20Joe%2029%27%203PT%20Jump%20Shot

with 17 sec on the clock, early offense, one hard screen

https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=191&GameID=0042400144&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=MISS%20Joe%203PT%20Jump%20Shot

16 sec on the clock, open shot, could have easly dribble inside of paint ( but took 3 )

https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=262&GameID=0042400144&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Joe%2027%27%203PT%20Jump%20Shot%20(5%20PTS)%20(Gilgeous-Alexander%204%20AST)

16 sec on the clock ,pure catch & shoot with step in, perfect "practice " shot

https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&GameEventID=274&GameID=0042400144&Season=2024-25&flag=1&title=Joe%2026%27%203PT%20Jump%20Shot%20(8%20PTS)%20(Gilgeous-Alexander%205%20AST)

after one made he feels good, once again with 15 sec on the clock they go for early and rather easy curl for wide open catch & shoot

Our offense flat out does not create easy looks.

"Jokić bonus" is just his gravity, KCP played with Lebron and Jokić. Those guys have biggest gravity in nba in past 20 years, aside from Curry and his gravity.

Wish we would have KCP initiate a few sets a game especially early to get him involved. There was a brief span of time I think maybe when Paolo first came back, that for a couple weeks we started the game off with KCP running point, getting a couple middies in, then got back to our usual. Wouldn’t mind that or at least the mindset to be on getting the shooters a look within a couple plays of them checking in. Shouldn’t be that hard to have a system in place to try that.

Yeah I’ve noticed this also. Celtics players are flopping like fish on contact acting like there is a sniper in the building when they are touched. Boston is SOFT. Who’s the grittiest player on that team? Jaylen Brown? Al Horford? Lol.

They are sitting guys during the playoffs for just minor ****. That should tell us enough about how they really feel about their chances on this matchup.

Their fans REALLY wouldn’t have liked Moe or Suggs in this series. Just insanely soft. Like they haven’t watched playoff basketball pre 2012 or something. Good hard fouls on the play should be standard without all this complaining.

General Board is a joke making Orlando out as dirty because their fans are used to these dudes just gliding around the court doing whatever they want without pushback. I’m glad at the very least Magic are checking them.

For me, I think the shooters ARE getting good locks; they just brick shot after shot.

Look at the end of the 4th when F-Wagner missed some threes. He was open on every shot. They weren't "bad" shots to take.

And Caldwell-Pope was open on both his attempts. Harris and Anthony were open on their missed threes. Etc.

I am convinced the Magic needs shooters more than a playmaker. Absolutely convinced.

I find it hard to accept that....EVERYONE on the team was having their worst individual 3pt efficiency seasons of their careers. CoJo (tiny sample size, but...) comes in and runs the team and we shoot lights out for a week or two...now, CoJo, while still starting, really has been reined in and just does the same handoffs that we've been doing earlier in the year. He's either hit a talent wall in the Celtics defense, or he's been reined in by a Coach who still thinks the 15 minutes of offense was a fluke.

There's definitely plenty of footage of KCP missing open shots, but as someone else mentioned, he's not in any kind of offensive flow or role, if it comes to him, he shoots because that's his only offensive role. But, it's not like he knows where to be and is expecting it. The shot clock management is still atrocious...it's old news, but we take WAY too many rushed shots at the end of the clock.

Our guards are spending a lot of energy guarding the Celtics guards. The shooting is going to be down against them.

I think I'd consider starting Isaac and bringing KCP off the bench against the Celtics' big starting lineup.
