Is it now safe for me to say that I never saw a difference?

His % would be better if he didn’t toss up so many junk off-the dribble ones, but those are like 4-5 per game, so it is what it is.

Requesting Tatum be HOT for the playoffs, please!

I thought it looked different early on but he reverted back to his old form

If the Celtics make it to the Finals and JT plays in every game of the postseason, he'll move up to #2 (behind Magic Johnson) for most playoff wins before age 28.

Yup, the hitch crept back in for sure.

It'll take time. He was at 37% oct through dec.

He'll play bully ball in the playoffs just like he did last season.

Tatum is due for the most impressive playoffs showing of his career. I think we're about to witness something truly special. Legendary even.

Perhaps. I’d be happy with him just being his effective self. He doesn’t need to The One.

I'm not happy with him being himself in the playoffs (or maybe he needs to get back to being himself).

JT shot 37% from deep through 17 playoff games in 2020. Nice. He shot 39% from deep over 24 playoff games in 2022. Fantastic. That's what we'd expect. Then the past two playoff runs he really stunk up the joint from behind the arc -- 32% over 20 games in 2023 (on 8 attempts) and 28% over 19 games in 2024 (on 7 attempts). I'm not happy with that. I doubt he's thrilled with it himself. Sub-30% is getting into yips territory imo.

It's ok to ask more of him. Especially over 20 games. Esp the 20 most important games of the season for defending our title lol.

Give me 36% from JT and JB and I'll be happy. Give me 39% and I'll be enthusiastic.

I personally don’t care about his 3% as long as he plays winning basketball and makes good decisions and plays solid D. People get hung up on numbers that don’t matter. He was fantastic in every aspect of the game in last playoffs, but his shooting was off so people think it was a bad showing.

His three is unacceptable. It's that simple. We don't need to complicate this with a debate lol.

That’s tough.

Tbf to Larry, he probably averages 28+ ppg every season in the 3-ball era.

Tatum has passed John Havlicek for second in all-time 30+ point playoff games for the Celtics

He's also passed Ray Allen (and KG and Bill Russell) for 38th on the all-time NBA playoff scoring list

Tatum is the first player in NBA playoff history with at least 35 points, 12 free throws, and a 1.000 free-throw percentage in consecutive games.

The Celtics star’s 70th Playoff win before the age of 27 puts him in a class with Magic Johnson (85), Kobe Bryant (79), Tony Parker (79), Jaylen Brown (74), Kawhi Leonard (73), and LeBron James (72) as the only players to ever do it

*before age 28, not 27.

The before-27 list only includes Magic, Kobe, and Parker.

But wait! When I read the general board here on RealGM, everyone is better than Tatum. What's the story?
"Numbers lie alot. Wins and losses don't lie." - Jerry West
"You are what your record says you are."- Bill Parcells
"Offense sells tickets. Defense wins games. Rebounding wins championships." Pat Summit
