Dallas - Memphis - New York
A memphis fan mentioned wanting OG for Bane so thought i'd give it a stab:
Dallas trade: Washington, Thompson, Gafford, 11
Dallas receive: Bane, Dadiet
New York trade: OG, Dadiet
New York receive: Washington, Thompson, Gafford, 11
Memphis trade: Bane
Memphis receive: OG
Why for New York: Add depth at forward and C
Why for Memphis: add an elite wing stopper to pair next to JJJ
Why for Dallas: add offense/3rd star next to kyrie/AD
Feels like maybe NYK owes more.. but not sure to whom

Dallas obvioisly does it. Memphis might conceivably do it. No idea why NY is doing it though.

This might be blasphemy, but ... is OG $20 million/year better than PJ? I like OG, but I think he's been severely overrated because of his archetype and that now is is also potentially severely overpaid. So if I'm NYK and I can get a really nice set of rotation players (I do think Klay HAS to be replaced with other players) and a late lottery pick (which perhaps gets moved to a third team for someone ready now) that doesn't seem half bad. I don't love it for Memphis, but I could be sold on them just really wanting more perimeter defense & feeling like with how well they've drafted the offense will be fine without Bane. Dallas is getting too good of a deal, probably remove Dadiet and swap Klay for better contracts.

Maybe remove dadiet and send was fake 1st to Memphis then? Or send both to Memphis? Hmm had trouble fine tuning the value for this one

My opinion would be to send both to Memphis, but that might not be the consensus. At least one or the other seems reasonable (to me).

They might not care about the money, but they could care about what they get for the money. e.g., if they get knocked out of the playoffs and have few contributions from their bench something like this could make a lot of sense.

Thibs only plays a shallow rotation at the best of times, and he loves OG. He's not going to agree to trade him for 4 quarters. The Knicks GM is probably terrified of giving Thibs a 5 man as well, because it'll nullify the 5 out potential the Knicks have.

I think of Thibs had say...Gafford, Naji Marshall, and PJ he wouldn't run such a thin rotation, but we obviously disagree.

Both Washington and Gafford are on expiring contracts next year. I would assume Gafford is looking for mid teens plus per year and PJ will be looking for Grant/McDaniels level money - high 20's per year.
But I assume the Knicks would look to keep Bane in this scenario - justifying the trade that they get more of a traditional SG next to Brunson who’s a better secondary creator than Bridges/Anunoby and shift Bridges back to his natural SF position.

Feel like they have more than enough offense already though and could use more depth

Grizzlies should cut the Knicks out, I don't really like it for Dallas, you don't claim you want to build your identity on defense then roll out Kyrie/Bane backcourt...
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Agreed, the Knicks need better depth but I don’t think they are willing to move a starter to do it.

Too many posters overlook role when they talk about worth and/or replacing guys on other teams. OG most nights is our best defensive player. OG is the guy we put on the red-hot Cade today and got key back to back stops. OG is also the guy we put on a red-hot Wemby (of all people) for the last 7 minutes of a nationally televised game and shut him down. (I'd have to look it up, but I think Wemby went 0-6 down the stretch with OG on him.)
As such, OG is worth every penny of his salary to us. Accordingly, we're not trading him for Washington and Gafford (absolutely no use for Klay at all). And that's no insult to Washington or Gafford, both of whom are fine players, but with Towns, OG, Robinson, Precious, and Huk on the roster, we don't need "more depth at center/power forward." (What we do need is an elite shot-blocker who doesn't get injured 20+ games every year, but that's in addition to keeping OG, not to replace him.)
You don't think OG would fulfill this role on your team? Then he's likely not worth to you what we're probably asking for him. On the other hand, I think Robinson, Bridges, McBride and/or Precious might be traded this summer, as (despite being good players) their roles are more replaceable and/or are less important to the team. (I personally hope we don't trade McBride or Bridges, but yeah, I can at least see it maybe happening.)
RIP magnumt--you're literally why I'm still here on these boards.

Yea OG is worth every penny of that contract and a trade like this would make the Knicks far worse. There’s other ways to achieve more depth than giving up our 3rd best player overall and best defender who guards 1-5.

Is Bane a good defensive player? How about as a shot creator?

He is not a good defensive player, he's a good offensive player, I think the value is fine, but Luka/PJ >> AD/Bane, when you make a deal and tell the whole world my identity is defense, you don't trade for a 3rd max player who isn't good at defense.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

OG should be untouchable, I'd trade Towns or Brunson before Anunoby. Such a monster.

Yeah, we have a really nice top 7 and need a better 8th man. That's what the MLE is for, not your starters.

I think we need two more legit guys. I think Mitch and McBride could be sent out but if they send out two, they got to get two back or at least a starter quality guy. Lowkey I could see something done for Brandon Clark, but if I was the Knicks I would be circling the Pelicans and the Kings to see if they have anyone on their rosters they want to cut just to make roster changes.
