It's a double header, I was OK with hoping Gausman could get that final out.
Unfortuantely it didn't work out.

Games don’t matter any less because they are in a a doubleheader and Schneider just completely threw this one away.

Not my point all.
You can't manage game 1 of a DH like its game 162, especially when there is not a day off afterwards. Your trying to make it easier on your bullpen not only for the downward impacts of game 2 of the DH, but even moreso the next 3 nights,

Getting an extra few innings from your starter in game 1 helps a lot flowing down over the next 4 games.

I feel like there’s a happy medium between making it easier on your bullpen and having a clearly struggling Gausman set the Blue Jays record for pitches in an inning as he did today.

The concern is the constant overbidding for no reason by this FO.

Vlad for 14/500? For ref Aaron Judge signed a 9/360. Marcus Semien 7/175. Kyle Tucker 1/16.5. You could have Semien AND Tucker for the price of Vlad, or for 5 mil more AAV you get Aaron Judge.

Giminez? For his money you could sign Teoscar Hernandez.

You would have needed to trade a fair bit to get Tucker at 1/16.5... and then potentially lose him or pay him around 350+ next year.

The argument can be made we overpay contracts. But Tucker was not a realistic get.

The projections are Tucker gets over 500m

2 for 13 with RISP. 11 hits and 2 runs.

Santander with another 0 for the game. This guy needs to sit down. He is not producing.

Not like they have anyone else to replace him.

All they can do is hope Santander starts hitting, otherwise they’re going to another 85+ loss season

If Bo would have kept running out could he have got that ball?
Maybe it was just the angle that made him look close to it.

It's now 14 homeruns hit against 36 homeruns given up. The ball park, weather and or whatever other excuse doesn't really match up when the opposing team seems to have no issue teeing off against our pitchers.

Judge is unreal.

4-1 now. This is looking like another loss. 2 games under .500

Can't believe it's 2024 all over again. You'd think getting Santander, a back-to-his-old-self Bo (minus the HR) and Springer, as well as a new hitting coach, we'd be better than this. Our most reliable hitters are Straw & Heineman. Roden has cooled off and so has Wagner. I don't know what happened to Jimenez. This is just depressing.

Bring back Guillermo! Loved that guy.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Cleveland has to be thrilled that they found Suckers like the Jays to take two of their worst contracts off their hands with Gimenez and Straw. Gimenez owed nearly 100 million over five years, and looking like Ryan Goins 2.0. The man has been awful at the plate for nearly a month.
