djsunyc wrote:my take: detroit plays tough but man, their offense is really really bad and they rely a lot on vets. good defense but that offense is rough. one guy that can kinda get good shots off in cade and that's it. duren can't do anything on offense, same for thompson.

i also feel detroit is propped up a bit by just how bad the knicks actually are. zero depth and with 2 premier scorers in brunson and kat, they are just eeking out wins. they play good defense too but this series being so close is more an indictment about the knicks.

celtics should beat the knicks in 5 or 6 but the playoffs are a war of attrition. health is gonna play a factor in that one.

I'd go the other direction. The Knicks are actually better than they look here, but still not contenders.

They can't play any consistent, cohesive defense with the KAT at C lineups. The Pistons are just quite bad on the offensive end and the Knicks flatter them.

On the other end the Knicks should be better on O, maybe not their regular season fools gold level metrics good, but this shouldn't be endless rock fights.

Since the trade they clearly have the wrong coach for what is now the Pacers but with OG. Playing prevent offense all day with a team that just can't defend since the trade anymore.

Tough game for OG. Team worst -9. I am shocked at how they’ve looked against a mediocre Knicks team. I have a feeling Knicks won’t survive very long in these playoffs if they don’t step it up. Celtics aren’t the Pistons. They’ll make them pay.

Anthony Edwards has turned himself into a great player with his improved 3ball. There is so many ways he can beat you now when he is on a streak. handles physicality okay, elite first step and now shooting 40% on volume 3s.

his age curve improvement is pretty crazy. Shai popped off in his age 24 season but Ant has been a lot more steady.

Ant is significantly better than Shai when Shai was 23. It’s absurd how much of a leap his shooting has made.

KAT proving me right another playoff run. He's still so disappointing on D. You can have the deepest bag in the world as a 5 but if you're the last line of defense and that poor at rotating or reading developing plays, you're just giving it back most of the time.

He's like the anti-Yak. Thankfully for Toronto's roster construction, O gets paid and D gets paid much less.

He is better yea but I do think Shai being strategically rested due to injuries hide some of his talents. Shai was a top 3 driver from his 2nd season. Had a season of good 3 point and midrange shooting. Then a season of elite ftr drawing with bad 3 point shooting. He just ended up putting it all together in his age 24 season (his 5th season same as Ant rn) .

I don't think Ant reaches the level Shai been at the last 2 years cause that is all time KD/Harden/Kawhi etc stuff. But his 3 ball makes him such a interesting/dynamic player in the post season. Teams take away the rim from slashers like him and Shai so having that to fall back on is very helpful.

Shai just has so many counters and elite footwork, high IQ that Ant is still far away from.

Sorry, but didn't he score the last five points for NY to complete a comeback and win? He is a very good scoring threat and you can get away with it on a team full of defenders.

The Pacers and Cavs can give the Celts some issues if they stay healthy

I really like Franz but his fit next to Paolo is questionable as a secondary scorer if his shot doesn't develop. Hard to have that as two big pieces of your core in the playoffs as we're seeing now.

From a late tied score at 91 on, Banchero and Wagner really failed to come through in the clutch

Silver may just have to resign himself to OKC coming out of the West

It’s crazy how good Siakam’s handle has become. And how good he’s become as a perimeter initiator. Barnes needs to work out with him.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive
