I wouldn't count them out yet because the games were very close but they have 0 bench. Lebron played 45 minutes which is crazy at his age.

They struggled to build around LeBron. I'm not sure how they think they can build around Luka with no picks and no cap space. It's going to be difficult for them to get into a position to build around Luka.

luka is different from lebron. higher variance. dumber and more creative. and looks like the nba version of prime russell wilson, ace of broken plays

Would Presti go full Warriors 2016 mode and go after Giannis if we don't win the title? :)

I doubt he will but it's funny to think about it (even more because the Lillard shot was a blessing and now his unfortunate injury is closing the door for the Bucks to contend)

If OKC gets crushed in the 2nd round again I wouldn't completely rule it out. I'd still consider it highly unlikely, but not impossible.

giannis seems to be too big of a commitment and it's hard to see it happening without involving jdub or chet.

for me is less about whatever round the thunder might get knocked out and more about performance.

main rotation guys that would be on a hot seat if don't deliver would obviously wiggins and joe.

It would have to be a deal involving Hartenstein plus filler/picks. I wouldn't touch our core to make it happen. Our window of contention is wide open well beyond Giannis' and I wouldn't reduce that window to enhance our short-term odds. That said, he would fit marvelously as a de facto big in our lineup. Chet would be a perfect front-court partner for him and he would give us another elite option for attacking the paint.

that kind of deal would invariably deteriorate the thunder depth over time since we'll trade depth for giannis and the picks needed to keep replenishing the roster with surplus value. giannis is a way bigger commitment than he looks. once his contract is up we'll have probably the core (sga, chet and jdub) and close to nothing on the side, with a bloated salary cap.

i wonder how much we improve in odds by adding a talent like giannis? i see people saying almost like three rings would be guaranteed and i wouldn't say even 1 would be guaranteed;

on the other hand there's a multi generational wealth of assets that presti managed to acquire in a short span, that if properly rolled over and managed will make the thunder a winning franchise for decades that championships won't be a matter of "if", but a matter of "when".

they should trade Morant and travel to Europe to recruit Poku as their next franchise player.

We should just rebuild if they recruited Poku.

from the more to less likely teams from the West to beat OKC in a playoff series I have 1) Clippers 2) Wolves 3) Denver 4) Rockets 5) GSW so I'm gonna root for the Nuggets to win tonight even if a game 7 is obviously a good thing for us if they advance.

I have it as Denver,clippers, wolves, GSW , rockets though.

Denver and clippers first two cause they are definitely our next opponent. Otherwise wolves have the best chance.

weird feeling that our playoff didn't start yet. I mean I was hyped/anxious 30 minutes before our game 1 tip off and after the 2nd quarter I was just hyped and the series was over :)
