We will have some money to take advantage.

Bring me all the versatile vets

We can trade for KD and still have the means to sign a bunch of these cheap vets. Trading for KD doesn’t even touch our flexibility once we let Duncan go.

People are acting like you just make the trade and then it’s just KD in place of whoever you just traded but that’s not the case. Will have several vets coming to try and play for us and there will be some solid ones out there. We just may find last summers Malik Beasley

How do we let Duncan go isn't it a player option?

No. Early termination option. 9.8 million is guaranteed so if we release him we get 10 million in cap savings. Need to release before July 8th

So what exactly is our sales pitch to get KD to even consider us? It’s not like we are doing ourselves any favors in these playoffs. KD is not going to look at a team swept or gentleman swept in the playoffs as an attractive option will he?

It’s not like he has a ton of options. A team has to have the means in contracts and assets to trade for him then even be remotely interested in extending him. I think even in our struggles Miami is a good place to close his career with Bam, Herro, and anyone else they can add.

Clean house, keep Bam and Ware for sure though. Probably Larsson as well from what I've heard. I'd keep Jovic if we don't get an offer that makes sense too. Avoid shooting for washed up has beens like KD and LBJ like some Heat fans keep clamoring for, if we get a star Giannis makes sense because he's still young enough that we can get some great years out of a core built around him. KD and LBJ could legit become scrubs at any second (look what happened to Paul George) and even if they didn't decline I don't think either of them do much of anything to make this team a serious threat. Neither are that impactful at this point, they will give you 25 but they are old, low energy often and suspect on defense.

Move Bam too. There's no point in keeping if you are doing a reset

There shouldnt be a sales pitch because he doesnt make us contenders in the short term.

To bring durant at 37 is because you have stars to compliment him with and youre off to a deep playoff run

We dont have a star on the team.

Let the Rockets have him.. or Milwaukee who may be the dark horse in the durant trade

If he wants out sure but otherwise I'd keep him personally. It'd be cool for him to be a lifer.

I wonder if Tyler gets the same talk that Butler did. And will Riley do it publicly this time too.
