It makes sense that basketball coaches have a different mindset for challenges. The average football game had a combined 46 points last year. There are plays in football in which 7 points are on the line (15%). It makes sense to save challenges in that environment for a potential play that has massive implications.

Basketball isn't like that. If you have a challenge that can get you 2 points you should take it even if it comes early.
