Drop Duncan and they have full access to the 14.1 million MLE and stay under the tax line.

So basically dropping Duncan for Mitch.

I doubt it. He's only in the second year of that 10-year, $120 million deal, right?
Our roster just isn't strong enough, any coach up against the powerhouse Cavs with this roster would get swept.

Here? Maybe. But he'd have no problem landing another job, possibly with a raise and more control.

You used spoiler improperly & twisted it. When enso quoted you, it broke the board.
You did this; [*spoiler][*quote] at the beginning, but then put [*/spoiler][*/quote] twisting it up. Idk why you're spoiling quotes to begin with, but try not to twist the codes going forward please lol

Also it may simply be time. Sometimes players tune coaches out, and it's not easy to redo the entire roster.

At this point it’s possible Mitch does not come back if it gets too pricey. I think the tender to match is 7.8 but essentially it’s something they will have to dance around with that MLE and staying under the line. One thing looks certain is Duncan’s 10 million in cap savings is needed.

It's a good time to point out that this is why you don't give guys 10 year contracts.

Bobby Marks makes light at how little draft assets we still have and that big star hunting is not realistic with the 20th pick and two 1st not till 2030 and 2032. Keep expectations in check. Especially when talking about someone like Giannis who will garner 5-6 1st rd picks. Kevin Durant does remain a possibility due to age and contract demands that will keep the price within reason but also will strip our future flexibility again.

Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
If we are looking for a soft tear down the only option that could present itself is selling off Tyler’s contract to the Jazz for their expiring contracts like Sexton, Collins, and Clarkson. Might be able to get a pick out of it as well. Not many Tyler Herro trades out there when i look at the league wide depth charts. Most likely nothing is going to happen with Bam and Tyler.

Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
Wish we would’ve gone down swinging but probably for the best that we got absolutely destroyed in front of our fans. There’s no way major changes aren’t coming, hopefully from top to bottom and we already have Bam and Spo telling us major changes are coming. This team needs massive talent infusion, some scrappy 3 and D vets, an offensive minded coach (head assistant hell bring Dantoni back to the league or something) we need an entire new offensive philosophy and we need to go back to a switch heavy defense with some dawgs in the lineup. We’ve went to a drop heavy defense the last 2 years to hide weak defenders like Herro Duncan Burks etc who don’t have the ability to switch anything (as we saw Herro targeted relentlessly in the playoffs) after being primarily a switch everything defense in all of our deep postseason runs.
We have to have accountability for the FO, coaching staff, and players. EVERYONE has gotten way too comfortable.

My goal would be to get a KD and then see what you have available after that in addition to Herro to target a 3rd guy like a Ja or Zion for example (doesn’t necessarily have to be them)

Re: 2025 Regular/Offseason Season Thread Vol. 10
Well now that the season is over I thought I would hand out grades for the players. Now admittedly I don't watch as much as I used to due to real-life ish and of course not being as enthusiastic as I was in the past so some of these grades you probably won't agree with. These are mostly based on the regular season because obviously the playoffs were a stinker for pretty much everybody...
Bam Adebayo: B-
Still a cornerstone defensively. Offense picked up as the season went on. But he can't be a first-option to win a chip.chop.
Kyle Anderson: C+
He was alright overall.
Alec Burks: B-
Worth having on a cheap deal.
Josh Christopher: Incomplete
Tyler Herro: B
Good on him for becoming an All-Star and essentially the leading man with Butler's departure. But that stinker at the end (1 FG in game 4)... like Bam, not sure he's the guy you want as your primary option. His future will be one to watch like previous off-seasons.
Haywood Highsmith: C+
Would be nice if Spo would stop pretending he's a PF
Jaime Jacquez Jr.: F
What the hell happened to you, dude?
Keshad Johnson: Incomplete
Nikola Jovic: B-
Shame about his injury. I actually like Jovic but wouldn't be too upset if he ends up in a trade package.
Pelle Larson: B-
Another one i like. Showed some flashes.
Kevin Love: Incomplete
Pretty much in the UD role at this point. Condolences to Love on the passing of his father.
Davion Mitchell: B
A dog. Nice to have for the right deal.
Duncan Robinson: C
Think his time in Miami might be coming to an end.
Terry Rozier: F-
Just, lol
Dru Smith: Incomplete
Season ended by injury again. Hard not to feel for the guy because it looked like he was coming along.
Isaiah Stevens: Incomplete
Kel'el Ware: B
Looks like a good fit in thr front-court. He should get better.
Andrew Wiggins: C
Had his moments but was otherwise pretty meh.
Spo: D-
Ive long been off the "Fire Spo" wagon but this season was a black-mark for Spo. Too be fair the lack of talent was apparent but I don't recall a time he's had so many blunders in a season
So yeah, this entire organization needs to do some soul-searching this offeseason because what happened was quite an embarrassment to the franchise. We shall see what comes next.

Wiggins can’t be back on this team next year. His personality and game do not fit. Unfortunately Toronto is loaded up at the position so have to hope Dallas with Klay puts in a good word for him. Other options are the Suns in a Durant trade, or the Wizards which reunites him with his buddy Jordan Poole.

Would be shocked if he’s not included in the KD trade in some way

He’s 100 headed out in any deal for Durant. Don’t think he ends up with the Suns. He’ll get sent someplace else in a 3 way deal. Washington who has some big expiring’s in Middleton and Smart seems like a logical spot. Wiggins and Poole have remained close. Wiggins would be a good lockerroom vet for them.

He's the type of player who paces himself for a long season and selectively throughout the year accelerates into a full sprint.
Once the playoffs start though, he plays his best basketball
Conversely, the rest of the roster is incapable of raising their performance when the lights are the brightest; its a roster of impotence.
Yeah, well we have to get there. This is Jimmy who had
2 months off in the middle of the season before Golden State. We'll see where their season ends and a several more to go where they won't be able to maintain his picks and chooses like we wouldn't.
The only way that trade really works out for Golden State is if they win the finals this year
Good luck paying Draymond, Curry, and Butler all over the age of 37 140 Million dollars
The longer that deal goes the worse it will look, I would not run a victory lap if I were them beating the modern version of the 2010s Atlanta Hawks. They are going to have to see Anthony Edwards soon enough. Jimmy is not capable at this stage of his career to do much more than one last final playoff run, before he is completely cooked.
Why?
They werent gonna blow up their roster with Steph still playing at an elite level.
Prior to getting Jimmy, they were a bad team and immediately turned into a contender with him.
The basketball world seems to collectively regard the trade as a success for them, regardless of whether they win a chip.

Herro sucks, trade him.
He has had the full backing of an NBA basketball franchise. The HEAT have given him a greenlight to do whatever he wants. Oh, he made an all star team, great, but a lot of ball players could do that if they were in herro's place.
The HEAT have backed and supported this guy more than they should have. That Kentucky pedigree must really matter.
Trade him, he is limited athletically, defensively, and he won't ever be dominant offensively. He's a bench rotation guy at best. Yet he wants to get paid paid and be given big roles. Try to make him a bench guy and he complains.
