Jimmy Butler: I Don't Like Dillon Brooks

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Apr 29, 2025 1:33 pm

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler didn't shy away from being candid about what got him going late in his team's Game 4 win over the Houston Rockets. Butler said "people" started talking, and that helped motivate him to get the Warriors to a 3-1 series lead over the Rockets.

When asked if "people" meant Rockets wing Dillon Brooks, Butler said, "Yeah" with a laugh.

Butler denied that he was having fun going back and forth with Brooks. He shook his head multiple times while the question was being asked.

"I don’t like Dillon Brooks. He’s a fierce competitor. I’m a fierce competitor. But ain’t nothing fun about that."

Someone needs to explain the word hypocrite to Jimmy. I don’t like Brooks either but the entire Warriors team was throwing bows and Draymond’s foot was hunting for a set of balls to kick all night but the second the other team fights back they crumble like spoiled children.

I looks more like the Rockets are crumbling. Down 3-1 to the number 7 seed.

That's just the tribal nature of being on a sports team. You defend everything you and your teammates do or at least view it in the most charitable way possible and do the opposite for your opponents.

Jimmy is essentially a more skilled version of Brooks. Both are destined to be the most disliked player on whatever team they are on. I'm wondering how this plays out with Draymond long term. Jimmy and Draymond are going to hate each other for sure.

Draymonds antics were the most tiresome last night, especially watching him check his nails on the bench like a 8 year old pretending he wasn't the one that just threw a tantrum. Should have had a second tech and a flagrant on that play but name power in the NBA is undefeated.

No offense but this is such a ridiculous mischaracterization of Jimmy. To say he’s “essentially” just a “more skilled version of Brooks” undermines that he’s been proven to be the closest player analytically in skill to LeBron…

No, they both passed each other's a.. Hole test. That makes them happy together. But Jimmy isn't hated. He's just confrontational. He likes getting his share of words in. Draymond is kinda dirty and a problem child. Every time the warriors are down Draymond instantly resorts to pettiness to get into the other teams head. He will do just about any vile thing that pops up in his mind. Jimmy actually has skills and you can tell he only half the a.. Hole

Yep the fact green. Was not thrown out of that game was a joke.. He kicked the guy in the head the other guy even got a tech for pushing his legs away which draymond had tried to kick him in the nuts while he got up and then grabbed his shirt to pull him down.. This is ridiculous anyone else would of been gone

I was talking in terms of personality... and in number of rings.

You should probably not make the Lebron/Jimmy comparison in public. That's some flat earth mumbo jumbo right there.

That doesn’t entirely come off in your post and you leave the door open for interpretation when you say “more skilled”

Thae fact that an idea has been discussed elsewhere, or that someone dropped a vid on YouTube about it, does not give that idea credibility. The stats are lying to you. (I'm tempted to drop a Bigfoot vid in here, but why take the time.)

Jimmy has an identical career TS% (.590) as Lebron, and that is where the similarities end. Lebron's eFG% is significantly higher and his HOB (Hand on Bucket) is almost double Jimmy's. And we'll see how Jimmy's counting stats fall off as he approaches 40yo. Jimmy is not and has never been close to the offensive force that Lebron has been. They play two completely different games. Jimmy is a stud, but I don't see that comp in the slightest.

Jimmy has 19 career triple-doubles; Lebron had 18 in one season. (122 total)
Jimmy has 8 career 40-pt games; Lebron had more than 8 in three separate seasons. (79 total)
Jimmy has 106 career double-double's; Lebron is at 605.

You may find some statistical similarities, but Jimmy has done it at a much smaller scale on the offensive end. And to be fair, Jimmy is a more impactful defensive player and I wouldn't compare them on that end either.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Maybe English isn't your first language. 52 wins puts them the second seed. End of story.
