That, and I think if Doc was getting fired anytime soon, it would have already happened. All indications are that the Buck's ownership and front office love the guy.

Doc getting fired after this season would be a curve-ball, at least to me. I don't think Doc is going anywhere anytime soon. I hope I am proven wrong as soon as 24 hours from now.

When do you think they would have fired Doc? The chances of him being fired during the season were pretty close to zero.

Probably would have agreed with you until the Horst extension. That was super weird timing. Makes me think there was a power struggle and Horst finally talked some sense into the owners to letting him actually run the show now.

Feels like the owners have seen enough and knew they **** up with Doc.

I don't know when they would have fired Doc, but they should have fired him at least by the end of January. It was obvious the Bucks were doomed.

The Bucks looked like they were playing with no fight and no fire and were just trying to get the season over by like the 5th game of the season. How Doc is still currently coaching this team on April 29, 2025 I have no clue.

The fact that Doc is still here is a pretty strong indication that he not going anywhere anytime soon.

Also, the fact that the Bucks fired Griffin with a 30-13 record, but they haven't fired Doc at this point is another indication Doc is not getting fired.

The Kuzma trade.

There is a lot of writing on the wall that Doc's job is safe.

Hopefully, Haslem has learned the sunk cost fallacy with Deshaun Watson situation and realizes that the Doc hire was disastrous and the org needs to move on ASAP.

It's a blindingly obvious move, but ownership bought in Kuzma trade as best way to duck 2nd apron...so doing things that are blindly obvious is maybe asking too much

Eh, I don't think the fact that Doc hasn't been fired is an indication that the front office wants to keep him around. They certainly might, but I could definitely see them sticking with him through the season even if they wanted him gone because it would have been a REALLY bad look to fire a coach mid-season yet again.

I get the vibe from the owners that they more the type to double down on their **** ups and keep trying to Make it work rather than admit they **** up/ were wrong.

That's how Doc is, that's probably why they like him.

I hope you are right though.

Should've gone with Prunty. Guaranteed ECF berth.

Not gonna act like I'm confident either way but the timing of the Horst extension makes very little sense if Doc was sticking around. If there's anything you can bet on with ownership, it's that they're always gonna care about the optics. My money's on they'll find some way to "mutually part ways" with Doc basically retiring from coaching. Avoids the awkwardness of having to fire him and everyone goes their separate ways.

I agree with this, but I also expected them to fully clean house before Horst was extended. Doc has never seemed invested in this whole enterprise so I don't think it'd even be a difficult conversation.

I feel like the team mentally gave up after Dame got hurt and sat down on the court. I think we get blown out.

I'm honestly not even excited for next season now.

Doc’s not agreeing to any situation where he doesn’t get paid for the next two years while he golfs. Any mutual parting would be him getting “promoted” to some position that he can work remotely from the golf course.

Don't know how many times this needs to be said. Doc's getting paid no matter what.

If he agrees to retire, he doesn’t get paid from my understanding.

Doc is terrible and so is Kuzma.

How they could bring a player who would be so incompatible with Giannis is beyond comprehension. Kuzma is absolutely …. as an offensive player; is the complete opposite of the offensive skills that Khris has. The Bucks would have been much better off getting a lower quality, less known player who had skill sets similar to Khris’. How stupid could they be?

He'll "retire". It's semantics.

Also after a 0 point and probably 0 rebounds 0 assists game from Kuzma, Doc said in his presser that Kuzma needs to get the ball passed to him. I have never heard of a wrong and more lame excuse than that.

Now think who pushed to acquire Kuzma. I don’t think it was Horst.

If he was Snell and took like 1 shot that could be true but in that game he was 0-5, just a sad excuse from a sad excuse for a coach.
