Figuring out the KCP market is tricky.

You just have to hope some playoff team views him as a near neutral asset and good fit for them. A three team deal should be feasible. There is real value in the fact that he is capable of staying on the floor defensively against anyone and hypothetically should hit 3s at a decent clip. Just a terrible fit here, but someone may value him. Dallas? Denver or LA reunion? Not sure there are a ton of options, but just takes one.

Yet somehow, Indiana added an all-star by trading a VERY similar player on a VERY similar contract... within a few months of signing said similar player. Our GM is just sleepwalking.

Well 3 1sts for a player Toronto wasn't going to extend will do that for you. Not sure we are in a spot to trade 3 1sts for an expiring we will have to pay 45 million a year. Good move for the Pacers though, Siakam is very underrated.

Raptors didn't do terrible for a player who was going to walk. Essentially turned Siakam into Ingram, Walter, Agbaji and a 2nd I believe.

KCP + Cole for Poole

Or

KCP for Smart

I wonder if a 3&D wing like KCP is a more appealing piece for the Wizards looking to start establishing an identify.

where are 3 draft picks getting playing time on this roster? If we could get a fringe all-star PG (think Garland type of PG) for KCP and our 2 first this year and a first next year, you'd be crazy not to do it.

I like Smart because he can also handle the ball some.

It's not even about the picks. I'm saying Siakam was cheapish to trade for because he was a free agent to be. Not sure we can sign someone for 40-50 million. I would be fine trading multiple picks for a guard who is legit really good on both sides like Siakam and fits our finances. I don't know who that is.

I think attaching a pick for one of the combo guards could be viable.

Pretty safe bet that GTJ is available…what an awful sequence. Is that guy into the mob for serious $$$?

Can you imagine Brandon Miller with Paolo and Franz , good god he’s smooth and powerful. I can’t be the only one that is noticed his interaction every time he’s around Jamal Mosley, there’s something brewing there.

Well he is max contract guy and we could never afford him so it's pointless to entertain.

Moving Defense to Offense here's a simple trade that makes some sense.

Orlando Trades - Jon Isaac + Cole + 25 magic 1st
Portland Trades- Anfernee Simons

Magic hand Simons a deal like Cole's immediately and make the cap work in the background.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Beal was worse than all those players in EPM.

You forget he's an elite shot maker and all star, especially when locked in!

Beal has that no trade clause, but I'd have to imagine he'd rather play on a team like the Magic rather than the Suns. He hasn't been nearly as bad in Phoenix as people have made him out to be, he's not producing like his contract, but he's a good player just over paid. He might be kind of the perfect guard next to our forwards, his usage has gone from 34% in DC to 22% in Phoenix . Trading might be hard to make the money work, but i am sure Phoenix would do all they could to get off of him.

There are worse options than Beal. If we could 20 Points a game on 60% TS with 2.5 3s and a game seems like the perfect mix from our other guard, while at least being a slightly below average defender. Whoever that might be.

How does Smart even remotely enter this discussion?

Older, lesser version of KCP...who is an older lesser version of AB...who is a lesser version of Suggs. Just a nonsensical target for this team.

The value would be send out KCP's absurd $22m for Smart's absurd $22m and at least get off a year earlier...but he's a lesser version of the only position that ORL has locked down...he'd currently be the 4th best SG, and that's if you don't take Queen and his $2m deal into consideration.

Michael Jordan was, too, in the past. Actually, Beal was always only a borderline all-star. I remember him and Vuc making it one year barely. They both looked like fish out of water in the game.

We also have a pick swap with the Suns next season. They aren't going to help them.

I just do not like Simons the way 95% of Magic fans do. He's a small, terrible defensive, inefficient shot chucker that doesn't make his teammates around better.

Never been a fan, but I don't really know...

ORL sends: KCP, Jett Howard
MIA sends: Terry Rozier

Offense for Defense...Rozier's deal is slightly larger, but one year shorter than KCP's. Jett's guaranteed money is also a plus for ORL. KCP is a better fit next to Herro...Rozier is only 6'1 and his 3pt shooting plummeted this season, but he's been historically solid. Is he another guy in the frequent group of Simons, Sexton, Coby, CJ, Jerome, DLo, etc that is an occasionally explosive backcourt scorer that is enough of a PG to work well with our lineup?

He's got a 6'9 wingspan and ultra-elite athleticism (dunk contest winner)...he "chucks" at 43.7% from the floor, 38.3% from 3 on very high volume ( 8.5 per game!) over the last 4 seasons, while scoring 20.1 ppg with 4.6 apg...I'll take a chucker like that anytime. That idea that he'll take a deal like Cole's is as silly as thinking Cole's in the same tier of player as him...he should be amenable to a deal in the area of Sexton to KCP  range ($18-23m)

You can argue defense...that's it - and that's an overrated story. Team defense is everything...offensive talent is everything.

This would be a horrible trade for us lol. Rozier wasn’t playable & they needed offense badly post Butler trade. Jett hasn’t shown anything but we could keep the possible illusion up & trade him in a better package. I would keep KCP or flip him elsewhere if possible.
