Didn't catch the whole game but it looks like the refs lost control early, players didn't help either
Surprised not much said about the hack a kiwi, people used to groan like crazy when pop did it

I think it was a mistake when they called him for the flagrant.
I’ll say this as a Warriors fan. It wasn’t a flagrant in any sense of the word but was a T for how he got up. Ref should have either owned it as a T or let it go as they let the series be physical. I also think they called it the way the did because they knew the first T was BS and didn’t want to kick him for some BS. Having said all of that, league has an issue and it’s not new. Consistency from one game to the next would be amazing but at this point I’d settle for it from the start to finish of a game and the refs aren’t capable of that which is sad.
The ref made the right move then. Dray never deserved a tech for his first one, and doing so again would have taken Dray out of the game. So he chose a sly way to handle it. He 100% intended his legs to accidentally flail as they did.

Four of five regular starters for the Warriors were drafted by the Warriors. It's really hard to be that homegrown in today's NBA - the NBA even changed the rules with the salary aprons to make it harder for the Warriors to keep it together.
Cry me a river about the apron. Warriors "lucked out" into all star talent time and time again that pushed them WAY over the top. Andre Iguodala leaving Denver was the first shoe to drop. Now Butler magically getting disgruntled with the Heat and lands with the Warriors kissing currys butt every step of the way.
In addition im talking about how the league has been officiating golden state over the years.
The warriors have been the worst thing to happen to professional sports period.
History shows that it is not unprecedented for Jimmy to become disgruntled, and that he likes to get paid what he is worth, by NBA standards at least, which is not unreasonable. GSW paid him, the Heat didn’t want to pay him, and iirc the 76ers made a decision to prioritise paying Simmons ahead of him.

Teams don't do it much anymore because the League changed the rules because the ends of games became unwatchable - now off-the-ball fouls during the last two minutes of the game or in overtime result in free throws PLUS possession.
I didn't hear any groaning at Kerr but people were criticized Ime for giving in to Kerr's hack an Adams strategy too soon, before the two minute mark.
Speaking of Pop and Hack a Shaq...

Anybody who wanted to pay Jimmy Butler could have had him. The Heat didn't, the Warriors did. It's really that simple; no conspiracy theory needed. Also, the idea that Butler was somehow a "gift" for the Warriors is a recent invention. When the deal happened, most people on this board shrugged it off as noise, because they said Butler wasn't good enough to move the needle for the Dubs.

Yes and no. The right thing would be to call the game the right way. They failed to do that and it put them in a situation where they needed to intervene to fix their own mistakes. This was far more common back in the day and the announcers would regularly refer to it as a makeup call. The players would even joke about it with the refs on court. However, with flopping getting out of hand, refs being scrutinized more than ever, wildly inconsistent reffing both game to game / within a single game and a lot of sus call it’s just not the time for all that. The league needs to fix this or at least take it seriously.
