just depends what the offers are. I don't think waiting a year is going to tank his value. We aren't building a contender without Giannis, either.

Just thinking out loud here.

Must keep guys:
Giannis
KPJ
Sims
Green
Rollins

I’d prefer they keep Trent if possible, but I don’t see a mechanism while signing KPJ.

Bobby and Brook gotta be gone I’d guess. Maybe Bobby stays on another sweetheart deal. I think Tyler Smith showed some potential this year to big the stretch 4 replacement guy instead of Bobby.

I think we’re stuck with Dame and Kuzma, unless Miami wants to throw all their terrible expiring deals at us for those two, on the hope of a full Dame recovery/quick rebuild.

Pat has no value so he’s here.

I actually liked what I saw from Nance and would give him a partially guaranteed deal as a live body big.

I want to see it with both AJ Jackson and Chris Livingston, but I just don’t. I guess, I’d hope one of them could become a rotation piece, because they’ll both be on the team given our contract situation. Maybe we can swap one for a shooter.

Ultimately we’d look like this,

KPJ
Green
Kuzma
Giannis
Sims

Rollins
Jackson
Pat/Livingston
Smith
Nance

Spacing is a nightmare, but you can squint and see a quality defensive and transition team. You would need an incredible coaching job, a great pickup on a minimum contract contributor, and maybe stealing a piece in a small trade.

Feels impossible, but in 2019 we won 60+ games with Giannis and Khris (stolen piece in a small trade), Brook (great pickup on minimum contract), Pat (great pickup on a minimum contract), and a new coach who did an incredible job that year.

The alternative probably has a better chance at moving toward a contender, while having far lower downside. Ideally get Flagg & he's our next Flaggship player. Then hit on multiple of the additional picks/prospects you get accompanied for Giannis + eating bad contracts for a few yrs. Then see what you can do w/ cap space surrounding what we have. Maybe get 3rd banana after we've gotten the 1st 2.

Some would say this FO is bad at scouting. Well hire a new dept & let them have autonomy. They couldn't screw up the Flagg pick. And then hit 1 more. We'll see what AJJ does over time to have validated them. A crappy scouting dept drafted Giannis 15th in a bad draft. More chances, more hits. Something they've never done is take more than 1 chance per 1st rd in almost 35 yrs. So the process has been terrible too. We never commit.

Bring back point Giannis, let him be magic johnson. Go get a versatile athletic wing that can run with him. Bring back sims and lock him in the gym all off season with porter. Horst is going to have to get guys to take some sweet heart deals with future assurances. Get pat to opt out and help him with his legal fees and real estate aspirations

No need to give Nance a roster spot, he signed a 2 year 2 way. Bobby is the starting center moving forward. Sims the ball up. Waive and stretch Dame, and go FA shopping.

He is just a guy people think can return for a low price that can be useful for the team. He is flawed but he screens hard, rebounds, and is a versatile defender.

I feel like he's the Ajax of centers. Which, you'd rather be the Ajax of centers, than the Ajax of wings. More acceptable you can do nothing but dunk there. And even his version of dunking is better. But there's nothing to demonstrate he won't really harm your offensive efficiency.

We get excited about these guys simply because they're new, show something, are athletic unlike most the holdovers, etc. But that doesn't mean they're good either. Sure, bring him back cheap, but if this is what we have to get excited about, it reinforces there's not much to get excited about.

If he has to stay best case is they move him into a pobo type role or special advisor for that remaining 20-30mil he’s owed.

I love the Bucks but I also don't need Giannis to stay to here to his detriment. He's done everything he can here.

We can get a haul and he can be considered the best PF of all time which he probably is.

Still dont see how people think Horst is going to hit on draft picks enough to justify trading Giannis for a pick haul. Dude is awful on draft day.

This. He’s young and bouncy. I’m assuming he’s a minimum contact guy.

We need lots of those guys.

This.

Trading Giannis for a bunch of draft picks when you have a GM who can't even hit on rotation players in the first round probably isn't a great idea.
