Yup, you’re in jail and escape through the sewers. Always remember to save right before you exit! Then you can skip the intro when making new characters.

I’m midway through the Mythic Dawn quests, played 5 hours so far haha

I killed a character to get some ridiculous OP gear and stumbled into the Dark Brotherhood. Gonna follow that one through to the end.

I've got 7 hours in, which is insane considering I have a full time job and 2 young kids. But I can't stop. Did a big chunk of the main quest then pivoted over to the Mages Guild quest line as I want to enchant everything. Also became a vampire and had to cure that. Damn, I love this game.

Just spent over an hour trying to preorder a Switch 2 and I finally got through the line on Walmart and Citi declined the transaction for fraud and it was sold out by the time they sent the text message to confirm it. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Waited until I beat Last of Us Part 2 before firing up Oblivion tonight. You guys are gonna have to tell me if stealth archer build is still super OP. I heard they nerfed 100% Chameleon spell, which is probably for the best.

Time absolutely flies with this game. Exploring Ayleid ruins again is as wonderful as it was 20 years ago, and I've remembered just enough in that time to keep it nostalgic but not enough to make it dull.

I haven't used the Chameleon spell at all, but stealth archer does indeed seem as OP as usual. I'm playing on Expert so that I need to do some melee also now and again.

Oh yes, I'm used to Skyrim but I never really made an archer build in OG Oblivion (always preferred melee and heavy armor). Immediately made a Kajeet character with beefed up agility and speed, and am absolutely destroying/one-shotting enemies with iron arrows lol. It's unstoppable.

Expedition 33 **** rules as much as the hype suggests. If you're a turn based fan, or hate turn based games just because it's a lot of reading and waiting, try this one.

I'm having a good time with Oblivion even if it feels like something I've already played for thousands of hours. It's just nice to turn off the brain, walk around a big map, and murder the hell out of people.

Expedition 33 looks amazing but feels like something that I'm gonna have to invest a lot more attention to. But once I've had enough of Oblivion I plan to dive right in.

It gets a little less unstoppable as enemies scale and your marksmanship isn't leveled yet. Keep at it - as your skill progresses (which takes time), and you get stronger equipment, and can enchant it, etc. the power will return.

With all that, it probably isn't Skyrim levels of OP, but it definitely still is OP.

Yep. Enchanted weapons and poisons are a must once you get past level 15-ish or so, but it's pretty easily doable when you get to the mid-game and can just buy plenty of soul gems and ingredients. Definitely not Skyrim levels of OP where I was legit one-shotting giant trolls from across the map, but man it's so much fun just straight up merc'ing an entire castle of bandits from the shadows without taking any damage lol. This'll be the first time I do the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests right off the bat and I'm super excited.

Think I may have stumbled into the enemy scaling issue with Oblivion. Level 15, alchemy, merchant, and sneaking skills are maxed out. Acquired supposedly great gear early on, but I got whooped when I went into the first Oblivion gate. Exited, went looking for some gear that would apparently help my DPS. Entered the cave and immediately got whooped again.

I don't think I've got it in me to go further. Not when there's a load of other games I could be playing.

What difficulty are you playing on? Expert is known to be absolutely busted, apparently. Like from level 3 onward.

The level scaling is still broken at higher levels. 15 seems to be when it really changes over because I've got some spiders and hero skeletons wrecking me lol.

I'm making a huge dent in the Mages guild quest line right now but just started the Arena yesterday too. This game is everything I needed. I blink and 3 hours has gone by.

Damn, that's too bad to hear. Just don't make it more brutal on yourself and play a high difficulty out of pride. They tried to balance Expert (and presumably whatever is above it) and they failed spectacularly. It's like a 10x multiplier.

I started on Expert and I turned it down before I even exited the sewers lol

As much as Borderlands 3 was a relative let down, Borderlands 4 looks really, really good. Watching the state of play now and it looks like they made a load of excellent additions and changes.
