Ausar has been in the headlights, and now he's not. Brunson is hurt. How good is KAT?

Even at their peak the Knicks are a clear step below the top 2 teams with no clear way to improve their roster.
That team had super high expectations after getting OG, Bridges and then KAT a first round exit to the Pistons in game 7 at MSG would be an automatic get a new coach card.
No way the NBA and their Refs let that happen.

Is he really though? Every time Brunson gets "hurt" he leaves the game only to make dramatic entrance back into the game paul pierce style 30 seconds later.

This is the most important development by far.

One game at a time Pistons. Don’t think about the series or the odds. Just fight through it.
If you can’t love this group of guys you don’t love Detroit basketball.
They’re not perfect but they’re easy to get behind.

A little early obviously, but I could definitely see this becoming a rivalry. The series has been physical and every game has been close. The players (and fans) don't like each other. Both teams have their core guys under contract long term and should continue to make the playoffs. Very likely we see the Knicks in the playoffs again.
It's not over, and this team won't quit. Win at home and go from there (PLEASE give the home crowd their first playoff win in 15+ years!) But it feels great knowing we're playing with house money at this point. Every game is great experience and a great learning opportunity. And being competitive, even in losses, should be great for morale. It would have been super demoralizing if the team got swept and blown out every game (sorry Heat fans).

If Ausar plays like this, we can do this!
His defense was spectacular. Getting open for passes from Cade, amazing.
We were up 10 late in 3rd i believe when he went to bench and that lead dwindled. He came back in and gave us a huge boost. Love it!

Glad the team put up a fight! Cade was aggressive down the stretch. Duren provided some key put backs but he also made some bonehead mistakes. The Knicks still would not go away by hitting clutch shots. The Knicks are a physically banged up. Can we take advantage?

Per 36 in the playoffs:
Ausar - 16.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.6 apg, 2.3 stocks on 54% FG
Amen - 13.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.5 stocks on 46% FG
Ausar - 16.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.6 apg, 2.3 stocks on 54% FG
Amen - 13.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.5 stocks on 46% FG

When Ausar is at his best I don’t think there’s any gap between them

I gave Ausar a lot of guff for how much his bad offense hurt us in game 4, so gotta give him full props for how much his offense *lifted* us in game 5! Great game by Ausar. If he can play like that all the time, our future is super bright.

your defensive intensity has been a thing of beauty all series. salute, as a lover of that brand of toughness in basketball.
future of detroit basketball is bright regardless how this series plays out, and i love to see it.
y'all are not getting enough credit for the imposition of will that is so responsible for the knicks' shortcomings so far.
