JJ Redick just became the first coach in the play-by-play era to play five players for all 24 minutes of a half in the playoffs.
James, Doncic, Reaves, Hachimura & Finney-Smith played the entire second half today.https://bsky.app/profile/keerthikau.bsky.social/post/3lntd4l7bak23

Dame tore his Achilles. Bucks lose to Pacers by 26 at home in Game 4. Indiana is up 3-1.
Khris Middleton averaged 25/9/5 on 48%/35%/90% against this same Pacers team 12 months ago.
Bucks traded him and their 2024 1st round pick (AJ Johnson) for Kyle Kuzma. Wizards also have the right to swap picks in 2028.
Then, they extended GM Jon Horst who made that trade.

Bucks don't deserve this much hate from the hoops gods. They made a good faith effort at competing by teaming up Dame and Giannis. Not every team is willing to trade you Luka for scraps, right? Too bad it ended up this way. Still not sorry we pawned Kuz off on them tho.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

If bucks are smart they trade Giannis and go all in on building around Kuzma.

I can't decide who to root against in the BOS-ORL series. I'm kneejerk against the Keltics but
find it very difficult to root for the DeVoss owned Tragic.

Considering they gave up Jrue for Dame, the Bucks deserved what was coming for them. Not to mention how they hired Doc.

Yeah they are a comically mismanaged franchise at this point.

I've watch 3.5 quarters of garbage time in MIami. I quite enjoyed it. It's like the Decision, in reverse - 'the Nope, but Almost!'

Houston is Exhibit A on why a team with a ton of prospect should cash in their chips when they can. They need offense. I think a trade for KD would involve Sheppard, 2025 pick (9th overall), Whitmore, Landale, 1 of Brooks/Green, and probably another future first.

How much longer can KD be a top tier player? The time it takes to go from that level to
a player with an albatross contract can be really short.

I think a very long time still. He's a near 7' jumpshooter. His game doesn't rely on athleticism, just efficient mechanics. Ever since he injured his achilles (Dec 2019) his game has become even more oriented to the perimeter and the midrange where he is absolutely elite still.
https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/kevin-durant-shot-chart-by-year
Defense decays with age. But jumpshooters can play into their 40s. At some point he is an old yoda coming off the bench, tutoring young pups on how to sink the shot efficiently. No albatross contract for KD though. Next year he is a $55m expiring deal. Then unrestricted after 2026. I'd love to have him here if we could get him on a short deal at the end of his career, just to pass on wisdom and insight to new pups coming up. Picture KD teaching Ace. Or Cooper.
But PHX will try to send him somewhere this summer to a team willing to pay a decent chunk in assets. A team who is one HOFer short will make a play for him then be able to burn huge $ off the cap when he expires.
I don't think us sending them Jordan Poole would do it, LOL.

Is it a foregone conclusion yet that Giannis will team up with Doncic in LA?

KD is almost eligible for AARP. He's one Achilles injury away from being Damian Lillard. I think Houston should stand pat and grow through the draft as they have expertly done so far. If Houston wants to go all in and trade, I think Giannis is a much better target than KD.dobrojim wrote:How much longer can KD be a top tier player? The time it takes to go from that level to

Houston probably should look at guys like Corey Kispert (for Tori Eason and filler!).

That was an ultimate joke job.
Kuzma was the guy they traded for. Bwa ha ha!
