Simons is the exact type of player we need and the best G option next to Suggs. Sexton would be my #2 option but i think Simons is way ahead

MLE - A younger player with high potential, im thinking someone like Zaire Williams. I know he was a bust in MEM, but he looked good for the nets last year and could be a a good guy to bring off the bench to give Franz a rest.

Draft - Tahaad Pettiford - PG Auburn - Undersized, but fun type of PG who i think will be better in the pros than he was in college but could be a great spark plug off the bench, much like Cole, but i think ultimately could be a better player. I think Cole will be gone by this time next year if we pull off the trade i posted

Final rotation looking something like

C - Goga
PF - Paolo
SF - Franz
SG - Simons
PG - Suggs

Bench of Black\Wagner\Williams\JI\Cole - With KCP and cole being traded at some point opening up mins for Pettiford

I know alot of people here wont see that as a huge improvement for next season, but i think this the route the team needs to go in to take the next step and a team that can compete with anyone in the east next year if our big 3 continue to improve and stay healthy. Get that shooter, add some solid bench scoring and get rid of worthless vets like KCP\harris (literally the same scrub player) and hopefully get back young players or draft picks for the outgoing players

I don't think TDS and a late 1st is a lot to dump Wendell's contract and get a serviceable starter/6th man. That being said the logic of moving Wendell and starting Goga just does not work in my head when they don't want to play Goga anymore.

Ziaire is an interesting buy-low, probably should be a vet min or very small portion of the MLE IMO. I do think we could use another wing that can shoot even if we keep TDS ( I know in your scenario he is dealt, so makes even more sense). Caleb being our only playable backup 3 outside of sometimes AB has been a huge weakness against the Celtics.

Pettiford feels like a reach at 16, but I do like potentially taking a shot on him if we can move up in the 2nd.

Damn honestly I totally forgot we paid WC last year, makes my hope of trading him even stronger

Cole out. I don’t really care what’s coming back in but I’m ready for him to be gone. Get us Cole+ instead, like Simons. Just anyone but Cole next season.

I’ve already given up on Weltman trading him. Been a long time.

Paolo may use his extension leverage to get some moves made.

Nah it’s time. The writing is on the wall. His minutes generally trended down throughout the season. Weltman can’t justify a guy on $13M when 3rd string CoJo is starting ahead of him and more reliable as a backup. That’s too expensive for a personality hire.

I'd take Walter Clayton Jr. at #16.

Trade #25 for a future 1st or in a package for a player who can help now.

I'd use #46 on a big.

I'd use #57 to try and possibly trade up from #46 a few spots.

In a trade, I'd try to package Goga and Jett for someone.

Wish List…not likely, but not inconceivable:

TRADE…Isaac, Goga, #25, 2 srps to TOR for Poeltl & Dick

MLE…Ty Jerome

DRAFT…Thomas Sorber

My main frustration with front office is not lack of moves as much as stubbornness and lack of flexibility.

I get their vision on building a strong defensive team through long, athletic players playing positionless basketball with forwards leading point of attack. Nothing wrong with that, you could argue it is where modern basketball is heading or at least seemed to be heading before Steph revolutionized the game with shooting. I can see similarities of our AB/Suggs/Franz/Paolo/WCJ lineup to lineup GS used to kick Mavs out in first round of 2007 playoffs.

However, that approach to work in today's NBA, team needs to score a lot more than back then and the front office must be aware of that. They simply seem incapable of pivoting and adjusting to the fact that our forwards are not good enough playmakers or shooters to be able to offset lack of these skills at guard spots. Instead, we simply keep trying same thing every year to the point where it is hard to even watch the games.

Get my 1 mile race time under 7 minutes.

I am picking Chardonnay as my wine, and Four Roses as my Bourbon. Cat videos from DRSD as my 2nd rounder.

He should’ve been traded years ago. Weltman always waits until players value is completely depreciated before moving on though (other than Vuc).

8 seasons in Orlando and Weltman has never traded a player on his rookie deal. Indecisive and scared to lose a trade

I think you summarized it pretty well, except you missed the part where he extends his little prizes...just before they completely depreciate their on-court or trade value...He's giggling to himself that he just signed marginal guys to "tradable deals", since we'll need matching salaries for a giant trade.

Players say..."Tradable extension you say...Hold my beer"
