I always say Thibs = Doc Rivers. Maybe it's Thibodeau's turn to lose a series after being up 3 - 1.

Fingers crossed. Lose the next two and he should be fired as many times as Doc has too.

I think Thibodeau lasted this long because Leon knows once he fires Thibodeau the clock starts on him.

i'd been hearing this logic for so many years but trying not to sound like a clueless oaf...i really dont understand the why's of it.

Same. If they run back Thibs I'm out next year until they get a coach. We have the talent.

someday people will realize that this Knicks roster is severely overrated and lacking in multiple areas necessary to matchup with elite teams.

We have the worst coach in the playoffs. If we win this series it’ll be off talent alone.

The fact that it’s even going to 6 should be enough to fire him. We better not have this coach next season.

Am I wasting my time looking at the last 3 and a half minutes of the game from when the game was tied 95-95 onward?

That's definitely going to be where the coaches and the players watch tape tomorrow, so I'm interested in trying to thinking about what they could be thinking.

Thibs is the lamest playoff coach ever

This was the most undisciplined group of players imaginable tonight

We don't have any high enough IQ player currently being used in the rotation to organize the players from the floor

Brunson was at his worst tonight with zero leadership

A real coach would have corrected course multiple times during the game

What an embarrassment

Is it talent on paper or the correct mix of talent?

This is true, but the pistons aren’t elite. They only look elite against our cheesy read and react offense. The game tells you what to do and all that dumb ****.

I think the main difference between last season and this season is there is no one that Jalen thinks he has to defer to, unlike previous seasons when he knew Julius was the #1 option.

With this current team Karl-Anthony should've been the #1 option from the first game of the season, and Jalen should've been playing the same role he did with Julius, where Julius would carry the team for the first 3 quarters and then Jalen would close them out in the 4th quarter.

This season it's basically everyone stay in the corner and watch Jalen dribble out a majority of the shot clock.

Knicks took the lead in the 4th quarter (88-87) on a Brunson free throw with 6:53 left

Game was tied at 90-90 off a Mitch basket with 5:15 to go

Knicks tied it again at 95-95 with KAT three off a Hart assist with 3:25 to go

We were in a position to win the game with 3:25 to go.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!?!

Pistons get 3 baskets in the next minute and a half, and go on a 6-0 run

So we could not get stops and we could not score

Mikal makes it a 4 point game with 50.1 seconds to go

Next possession, Ausar Thompson scores off a Cade assist and now it's 103-97 with only 27.1 seconds to go

Cade was responsible for pretty much every play on the offensive end during the end

That 8-2 run for the Pistons from 3:25 to 27.1 seconds is what lost us the game.

We made crucial mistakes during that 3 minute stretch. We relied on miracle threes from Mikal and OG to keep it close, but it wasn't enough. It also should not have come down to Deuce's free throws.

Yeah this sums it up perfectly. I could feel it happening right after the 95-95 tie

He’s leaving out the 3 straight Brunson ISO’s after that FT that led to no pts.

Tonight was an embarrassment, but if you think of a team full of veterans in a close out playoff game need a coach that corrects this, there are MUCH BIGGER ISSUES THAN JUST THE COACH. Some of you think these players are like high school kids that listen and wait on a coach for every thing. These players if they are “good” enough should be able to correct it themselves

We will either lose to Detroit in epic fashion and Thibs gets canned or we'll beat Detroit and bow out to Boston in 4 or 5 games and he likely still gets canned. Accept that one of those two outcomes is what we're in store for and then you'll be able to watch these wins/losses without losing your mind.

orrrr scenario 1 or 2 happens as thibs will still be here

There’s way too much chatter from the media questioning Thibs. Way too much. No way he survives.

Paper talent may be there.

Unfortunately the mentality of our two recent acquisitions — Towns and Bridges — is soft and weak.

So mentally we don’t have the talent.

And schematically we don’t have the talent.

And most of all we have very little to bring in new talent.

Leon Rose became Chris Drury (Rangers reference for y'all) very quickly. The team is on its way to a 3-4 more seasons of meaningless playoff appearances before ultimately bottoming out and wasting the prime of Jalen Brunson. You know it. I know it. Deep down, many people here know it. The proof is right in front of you. The Mikal Bridges trade was the worst in franchise history and ruined and any all chances of a title with this squad.

Knicks for all this talent, lack athleticism. Brunson bridges and KAT not very athletic.

As much as I’ve been **** on thibs I will say that some of our players straight up act so nonchalant about missing shots or losing games that it drives me nuts. Mikal bricks everything and still having a goofy smile on his face makes me want him traded for a coors light and a cheesy bean and rice burrito. Happiest that dude looked all season was shaking hands with his nets buddies after games. Loser behavior.

we have both but a coach who has no idea how to utilize the roster effectively

we have quite literally started and played a 6th man bench glue guy 37+ minutes a game the entire season because our coach is THAT hard headed
