I guess what people haven't really noticed is that refs sometimes call fouls not based on whether a foul happened or not, but based on the outcome of a foul. If you go hard up for a layup and are fouled somewhat but make the shot, it's 50/50 chance a foul is called, if you miss the shot, they call a foul.
From game 4, if Dillon Brooks fouls Curry and puts up 1 finger in his face to let him know he's only been called for 1 foul and Curry doesn't react... no foul, now if Dillion Brooks has a 2nd foul happen and Curry puts 2 fingers up and says that's 2, NOTHING would have been called but Brooks escalated the situation with a reaction and then the refs have to call fouls.
On these particular plays you've displayed in the pictures, everyone is just playing through the contact then complaining afterwards, Butler knows it's happening and will use it to his advantage so when he takes his 3 at an important time, he exaggerates the contact to get the refs to call the foul... and yes, touching someone in the chest or stomach area while they're taking a shot is a foul because it does disrupt the player shooting the ball. So, as a Rocket's fan, they can be upset at the call since it hasn't been called but they also need to understand they were getting away with fouling up to that point on a number of 3s until the foul was utilized against them at a very significant time plus when you get in a players head their going to be poked in the stomach on their shots and not get the call, that too will mess up their shots. Draymond's made a living on being in player's heads by doing some questionable stuff and then usually being smart enough to not do it at critical times of the game.
I think people have noticed and think it's BS. Your 3rd paragraph is why.
