Does anyone have access to team PPP when a player gets doubled? I’d be really curious to see those numbers this year.

I know 2 years ago, through December Giannis had the highest double frequency in the league, but also the highest, or close to it, team PPP on those plays.

I’d like to see those over larger samples.

Wish we could replay the series with our best 5 playing the most minutes. Series would have been a lot different.

We need to find a way to force Doc off the bench. His back is bad right?

Only one that would maybe make me think is the Houston deal. OKC one is laughable

Those are all terrible tbh

One of the funniest things this past season was watching a game and seeing Doc like this in the background

The problem with trading Giannis to any team for their 1st round picks of their own is that those picks immediately become late firsts, or 15+... The Ringer sucks, all these trades suck. Giannis stay.

Calling the url "trade-rumors" really gives away the game.

So you guys who want to trade him because Horst can't build another contender with the current roster think Horst can pull off a trade with productive players and picks that he hits on in return? The same Horst that botched the Kuzma trade and whiffs on picks?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Who knows what might have happened to the confidence of an ornery, rag tag group after taking a series. Who knows what the lasting impact on Giannis could have been had this particular group made a little noise. Thats why the Dame injury and Game 5 choke job are far, far behind Doc's lineup decisions in terms of what was most frustrating about this postseason. Simply, we had the dudes. At least for this first series. Doc failed the single most important job of an NBA head coach. Identifying and playing your best players. Inexcusable, unforgivable. Fire him into the moon.

I would feel so much better if we had AJJ, after a season and a summer in the weight room, waiting in the wings to maybe be our Maxey. Everyone knew he wouldn't be ready right away, which is why I hated the direction at the time, but he was at least a guy you could squint and see as a big part of the second act with Giannis. Instead we have Kuzma, a terrible fit, with likely neutral to negative trade value.

We need to get rid of the black antler jerseys and go back to the first green home court before it got ruined. We've been cursed since debuting them lol.

Every single one of those is terrible except maybe the one where we get Franz Wagner and four #1’s and two pick swaps. And even that isn’t enough.

Houston works if they give up Amen, Sengun, Reed and at least three of those best picks they hold (likely the Phoenix/Brooklyn ones). And frankly after last night I’d like five number ones.

The Magic one is intriguing since I could see us having major assets in a 4 years if Giannis declines sharply and Banchero bolts. I wouldn't do it, but there is some long-term value there.

I dont think the SAS one is bad. Castle is decent and you get decent picks back this year (depending on lottery with 30% chance of Top 4 this year) and some juicy Hawk picks.

But as others point out, they over value short-term firsts that are likely to be in the mid-20s. No I'm not going to trade Giannis for five future Marjons (Like I get Marjon was a bad pick, but vast majority of picks in that range suck)

Yes, he's capable of moving a guy with a laundry list of suitors who probably has a top 5 valuation in the league.

I'm hoping we bring Giannis back with a technical coach, spread it out with shooters and athletes and have a low expectation scrappy roster with Giannis averaging a 30/15. We can then see if we have enough bullets left to combine with a Dame expiring to bring in a disgruntled co-star. If not, part ways as I doubt value would be lower (Unless he gets hurt, but YOLO)

Next off-season, we’ll likely have a mid-round 1st, the ‘31 1st, ‘33 1st, and ‘32 swap if we really want to swing for things.

Even if you don’t want to use all that, and I get it, we’ll have quite a bit more assets at that point.

I’m taking the chance that we strike gold with a few guys off the scrap heap and that we find a good young coach. That scenario and Giannis finishing his career here is a way better prospect to me than these **** trade offers.

Just remember that you guys are suggesting trading Kareem to rebuild the franchise because of a few early playoff exits after winning a title. It may end up setting us back for another 20 years again.

IMO you do everything you can possibly do to convince Giannis that the underdog Duncan/Dirk/Kobe mid career rebuild will be worth it, and hope to god that he agrees.

I think this is why Horst was extended. This will be his sole focus this offseason.

How do we get our Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Shawn Marion, Jet, Tyson Chandler, Paul Gasol, Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, Kawhi Leonard, Manu Ginobili or Tony Parker?

Well of course he can move Giannis. So could you or I. The question is what the return is. And given Horst's track record on trades and draft picks why would anyone expect anything other than a disaster in return.

It was a week before Bud was fired in 2023 so I'm holding out hope it will be done. But each day that goes by my optimism will dwindle.

Think we saw the foundations last night of how to field a competitive team the next few years to avoid handing over top draft picks. Giannis as the big surrounded by athletes who can shoot. I know many still think about big 3 type setups but you can build really good teams around one elite star. Sure, it probably won't win a title but it can be good, entertaining, and at least have a punchers chance, plus maybe get lucky on a move that gets you another 'star'. Say something along the line of KPJ were to take a step up, or if somehow you do get your hands on like a 17th pick and that guy pans out. Or whoever you trade a Portis or Kuzma for somehow clicks here.

As a simple example, put Giannis on Indy and even take away Hali. Giannis surrounded by all those mid level solid good players that can dribble/shoot sure could do a lot of damage. Its feasible to build a team like that here. You have some possible starting points in KPJ, Green, Trent, maybe Portis. Come up with 4 more playable guys, not stars just solid, with an emphasis on ballhandling/shooting/D and get a good technical coach and that team can be fun to watch and win 45-50 games if Giannis healthy. Sure, it can't win a title barring massive luck but its better than the alternatives of sucking without your own picks.

Its time to make Giannis be the primary 5 in order to keep up with the speed of todays game. The banging argument doesn't hold much weight to me as almost no one has a down low banger anymore and it is the least physical era ever in the nba. Lebron would I guess technically be the primary 5 these days on the 3 seed in the west.
