They are worthless if Bucks don't trade Giannis.

This entire thread is assuming Giannis is traded. I mean if we going to just change hypotheticals then those picks wouldn't even be wanted by the bucks so that point is mute...

Seriousely now? The trade hinges on Bucks controling the draft, Bucks won't trade if they don't control the draft.

missi is not starting over hartenstein

lol, missi is 7 years younger and started playing basketball late. His development was much faster then anticipated. Why would Pelicans bring in Hartenstein and ruin Yves career, even though his floor is probably a bit lower then Hartenstein lvl player and ceiling far superior player then Hartenstein.

but you are maybe right, considering that Pelicans are dumbest franchise in the league, hired Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver and kept Willie Green, maybe they would do it. Smart franchise on the other hand, wouldnt.

That's basically the point, and NBA execs aren't or at least shouldn't be in the business of screweing myself just so I hold the other team hostage, very good starting center, capnrelief and a 1st is very good value.

I get flashbacks from the old Houston/Brooklyn leverages threads..

But NOP is a bit different. The 2027 first.. is their 2027 first. They traded the worse 2027 first for Murray. So I think they would ask for more. Since it’s their own unprotected first.

Unless you involve another leg with Atl. The Atl owned pick is top 4 protected..

What makes Missi have a far higher ceiling than Hartenstein? The past 2 years Isaiah has posted .200+ WS48 and +2.5 DBPM w/ positive OBPM. His DRtg over the last 2 years averages out at an absurd 106 and its hard to find many non-Jokic bigs with a 15 AST%.

I would wager Missi is never nearly as good as Hartenstein. He might be a Claxton level guy in time but Isaiah is on another level.

Route the DEN pick to ATL for that pick back then, but yeah, this complicates it...

I know many on this board are obsessed with teams getting their own picks back. But to date, we've still only seen one team do that. I don't at all believe a Giannis trade hinges on a very complicated series of deals to get their picks back.

It's creative. And fun. But I don't think its required. If Giannis asks out they are going to deal him to a place he wants to go for the most value they can get(won't be enough) and will rebuild absent their own picks.

If Milwaukee trades Giannis, they need to be getting back very high upside picks. Their own would be ideal, but complicated, especially because the 2027 pick is split and could go to either of two teams. But the Phoenix picks wouldn't be far behind, and it just so happens that Houston, their likeliest trading partner, owns the Phoenix picks this year and in 2027.

I imagine that a Giannis trade with Houston includes both of those Phoenix picks and the Brooklyn 2027 pick. (I can hear Houston fans screaming that that's too much. It's not.) If Milwaukee really prioritizes getting back its 2026 pick from New Orleans, two of those three should do it. If not, they hold onto all three.

I am an OKC fan despite the Seattle tag (long story), as a homer I would emphatically say yes! But logic for me would dictate that NOLA and POR should hold onto those Bucks assets instead of enabling a WC opponent (or a divisional opponent in Blazers' case) go on a three to four year run of crushing all opposition (with that proposed Thunder roster, OKC would search and destroy other teams).

Appreciate the effort but Giannis to OKC without Williams or Chet is as pipe dream as it gets.

Okc fan here. I think it is possible to do a giannis deal without chet or j-dub. No chance in hell we keep Wallace as well though.

There are 2 approaches to examine possible solutions to a problem, 1 is looking for precedent, the other is deduction, especially when there isn't much precedent for said problem.
Applying the method of deduction is not for everyone, that is clear, but it is by no means an obssesion.

It's absolutely insane to think that NOLA and PDX would give up those swaps. It would be franchise malpractice. Those swaps for portland were a huge part of the return for Portland's superstar player. There's no way. Throwing in Thybulle is wild too. Portland likes him and he's a big part of the defensive identity they're building, plus he's really improved as shooter.

I'm not moving those swaps unless they're involved in a superstar trade.
