I just want to say, Butler has been a freakingly great pickup for the Warriors. It's one of the best Trade Deadline acquisitions in several years.

Re: NBA Playoff Games 2025, Non-Celtics
Jimmy can play well when he's motivated and locked in. But as an acquisition I'd ask, to what end?
The trade to me looks entirely like a sugar hit designed to see Curry/Green off with some level of dignity.
The warriors are very much a 2nd round and out team, who are now set to pay an aging, often injured star $110 million over the next 2 seasons as he enters his late 30s. Personally that wouldn't fill me with a lot of joy.

Agree with all that.

There's really no long term gain with that Jimmy Butler trade.
It's a 2-year window at best.

Ehhh. I think when you consider how much Curry means to their franchise, then their fans are probably fine with a little long term pain to allow Curry to go out with some pride. Not like they haven’t won’t enough anyway

You're not wrong.
But wait when GSW becomes the next Washington Wizards when Steph is gone.
I'm sure one of the first to abandon ship will be Steve Kerr.

The best players step up and score their averages or better in the playoffs. The Knicks new shiny toy has never been able to score his average in the postseason and once again he crapped the bed last night.
I love watching the Knicks struggle

What's the median score so far in the playoffs? 101?

If you have Jokic, you always have a chance.
The hand-picked, best of the best USA team defeated Serbia twice in the olympics, but not in Jokic’s minutes. It was a tie in those minutes, both games. And the second best player in that Serbian team is Bogie, barely playable in the playoffs.

It's Lakers elimination night!
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

The Rockets-Warriors I have on, mainly in the background. H-Town is up 16 to end the 1st, but I have so little faith in them, I'm not really paying much attention to the game, because I don't want to see them lose the lead, then the game, then the series... maybe they'll surprise me and win, but I'm not counting on it, lol

Yeah. I'm watching them. I'd hate to see them lose this lead. Down 3-1 is terrible, especially for a 2 seed.

Curry isn't the same, at age 37.

An older team like Golden State will not give the type of effort to win this on the road. I believe they are content going back to GS and winning it at home.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

That's why Ainge traded Paul Pierce at the age of 35.
For the majority, it's really the start of the decline once a player reaches the age of 35.

I think that it's probably different for the shorter, quicker players; once they lose that speed.
The bigger guys can play somewhat longer.

True.
Al Horford is the perfect example.
