Move over (retire) LeBron and let some of these youngsters get some shine. You've stat-padded enough.

League has changed. Claxton would've been a fantastic player 7 years ago. Now we have highly skilled big C/PFs that will break Claxton's frail body in half.
Just 2 years ago (when the Nets were contenders) he was a DPOY contender... Signing a dinosaur like Adams to back him up

Re: Post Mortem #19: Los Angeles Lakers
When the trade for Luka happened, it was obvious that this is a long term deal. Luka-LeBron didn't seem a good fit on paper but I think they performed better than expected until the real season begins.
I think Rob won't overreact to this loss and trade assets to make this squad better. Next year should be farewell year for LeBron, they will milk that until the last drop, become a globetrotter entertaiment team.
Luka can rest and heal for 3 months, there will be EuroBasket starting end of August, he takes national team seriously, he will be in shape for his country.
Keeping AR will be a smart decision, his value is low at the moment. Luka-Brunson, Luka-Kyrie was efficient duos, he can be replicate for that. The most important thing is to find the right lob partner for Luka.
JJ made horrible decisions in the playoffs but considering it'll be LeBron's final year, he can be given second chance. It'll be like Kobe-Byron Scott farewell.

Re: Post Mortem #19: Los Angeles Lakers
They’ve still got Luka/LeBron, and they have some rotation players on short or quality contracts. They need some position shuffling for sure, and they are never gonna have a super deep roster like OKC but they can put together a title contending roster before LeBron retires, and clear the books to rebuild the entire thing through FA with just Luka if he resigns.

Lakers chances of improving the team hinges on Lebron taking the paycut.
AR/Gabe/Knecht/Vando/Kleber should all be on the block

Reaves is sadly gone. LeBron loves his young fellas while they are helping him look good, now they need a center and that means bye bye AR, end of an era.

100% a fumble. The package wasn’t that good, limiting their own Championship window by rescinding that trade was bizarre, regardless of the future health concerns.

Re: Post Mortem #19: Los Angeles Lakers
The free agency dream for the Lakers would be LeBron James taking a massive pay cut to throw a stint offer to Myles Turner, but in reality, I expect LeBron to pick up his Player Option.
With that in mind, I’m not fully sure what the game plan is. Maybe sniff around Jaren Jackson Jr., but I don’t see any shot that Memphis trades him for whatever the Lakers can offer.

As one mentioned already, a salary cut won’t help them that much since it’s just for avoiding the 2nd apron. Need clarification on this from our cap experts.
And also, what kind of cut is this? How big is the difference? Will it really matter?

Rather Kessler/Collins

If Lakers can't get Giannis those two my first options.

They will obviously need to trade Reeves for a big man.
Any team that doesn't ask for Reeves in a trade will be as dumb as Nico.
Besides Reeves their only other tradeable asset is rui and he will most likely get traded as well.

Oh sure teams are salivating on trading for Vincent, hayes, Maxx, and the rest of the lakers garbage that had 0 trust of JJ
