even though it doesn't seem logical, i actually think mikal should be the one going to the bench

josh hart has the best plus minus on the team in the playoffs + 25
mikal has the worst -31

maybe against bench units he can do something to make me not hate him

the problem is that it's hard to do that after giving up what you did for him

Horrible use of the english language. Those words put together sound terrible. Putting a shutgun to the back of joys head. And the biggest issues is it's just nitpicking a baddie. Which is lame sht.

all jokes aside, we really should be able to do this.

Feels like we're about to repeat the cycle of treating ewing and melo terribly for the team not supporting em properly.

I mean even the greatest weren't perfect - jordan and bron had their issues. So going in on Brunson feels really lame. Especially at THIS time in a game 5 playoff thread. But hey who tf am I to talk about propriety.

The team is not the problem. The only thing I would change is to bench hart and start Mitch. I would play Mikal more with the bench and sub him out early for deuce. The team itself is not the problem. It’s the mentality of the coach who doesn’t know how to utilize the weapons he has.

to put this into perspective

DET was a top 5 fouling team in the regular season

NYK was a bottom 5 fouling team in the regular season

somehow DET a team that fouls a ton vs the Knicks who don't foul is getting a bunch more FT's per game with a looser whistle? Make it make sense.

As obnxiously glaring this statistic is, the Knicks don't have momentum because of the foul calling. They're failing to execute and continue to pound a square peg into a round hole. The starting unit has been in the net negative since January.

Literally, fix this **** already, Thibs.

the only reason we're up in this series is because he's saved us several times. yeah, he misses some passes he should make and last year he might have looked a little more unstoppable. but he's the last guy to complain about.

I think that just tells me he turns superhuman in the 4th qtr...he just has a flip he can turn

But how do we explain his TS% in the 1st and 3rd qtr are 44% and 51% respectively...that is horrendous.

I take that as Ausar Thompson is fresh without fouls trouble at that point and is able to play really physical with Brunson.

At the end of the game I am all for giving the ball to brunson and getting out of his way...he has earned that.

Throughout the 1st half and 3rd qtr we need to be less stagnant...less Brunson having to use 7 seconds to dribble the ball up the court during a full court press. Let Mikal or Hart do that with less pressure. Get into our sets better. I think that is fairly obvious instead of just watching brunson exert so much energy having to shoulder the entire ball handling role while a young long defender is harrassing him all the way up the court.

We are getting into our sets late, if the first option is denied we are then having to resort to a last second bail out shot too often. 21% of your possessions ending in the final 4 seconds of the shot clock is a **** disaster.

Brunson's one of the best offensive players in the NBA and we're lucky to have him. He's a great shot creator, leader and face of the franchise.

I don't think pointing out his flaws - which are real - in a broader point about the Nova crew should be out of bounds. I love Josh Hart, but I think it's obvious he's been chasing triple doubles to some extent, and I don't love it. I've been thoroughly unimpressed by Mikal.

However, the timing of my comment wasn't ideal, so my apologies for that. I think we're all on edge so you're entitled to reacting defensively. But I also have my frustrations with this team. For some it's Thibs, others it's KAT, fairly or unfairly. We all express our opinions, sometimes not at the best time.

Melo was a great scorer, and a great player for the franchise for some time, but he deserved some (not all) of the criticism he received.

When people take it too far is when they go to the arena to boo the best players on their team, or assume they are owed. I hated how the fanbase treated Julius, and to a lesser extent Melo before him, and wish nothing similar for Jalen. I don't think it's accurate to even suggest the comparison.

I'm willing to bet Josh's +/- is 25 because he's running with the second unit.

For further context, Bridges and OG are the only starters in the negative in +/- (OG at -9). They've also arguably played the best defense in this series. The problem is the Knicks look absolutely inept on offense and this isn't a new thing. It's one of the reasons why the vibes going into the playoffs were so low. Starting squad has struggled with basic schemes all season long and rank amongst the worse since January. Very unacceptable.

And just for funnies, Deuce is +22 and we can categorially agree that A) +/- is a BS stat and B) Deuce has been absolute trash this season and post season.

You won’t ever find me slandering Brunson. This man is a hero. I encourage him to take 30 shots a game actually  don’t listen to these terrible people here.

There’s no way Tobias Harris and Schroder has a clutch historic game 6. They not like that.

All love. You're one of my favs. Im lashing out cause Im annoyed we even have a gamethread going right now. We should have closed this series out and be taking out our impending doom of facing the Cs out on our resident Cs fan. Oh hi meLo. Im bummed that timeline is on delay right now.

As for the Brunson discussion that's for others. I cant with it. He is above reproach from me.... except for taking less money. That I just cant respect. Especially for this team. But that says more, or less, about me than him.

we do play pretty well on the road compared to at home. The difference is only 3 games during the regular season home to road in terms of wins. Typically you win more games at home but the knicks are more 50/50.

Might be better to be on the road for this one.
