I just say look at OKC’s depth chart especially at shooting guard and Lu Dort, Caruso, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins….. :o

AB and Issac plus draft picks and swaps to OKC

i wouldn't say he sucks but he's a Guard/Wing that would fit very well with a Garland/Sexton/Simons bucket getter. We don't have any of those and Black is the same mold of Suggs/KCPoop

He sucks, but if trying to get Simons, he has more value than Cole, so maybe there's a way to combine him to build up trade value.

I think Portland could be interested in Isaac as a defensive minded player to pair with poor defenders like Scoot and Shaedon

More like Gary Harris and Cole. Cole is a way better defender than Simons.

Gary “Hamstring” Harris has zero trade value lol, but he does have a $7.5M team option next season

He's a good defender. We'll likely fill his roster with a more offensive minded player.

I guarantee Black won't be traded.

Cole, Goga, and Jett are all players who couldn't play in the playoffs. Those would be the first players to go combined with draft picks.

I've held the view that Mosley starting Cory Joseph and giving Caleb Houstan rotation minutes has been a sort of silent protest of the front office, that the team needs a true PG and some legitimate spot-up shooting.

He may have been instructed to play the shooters more. They gave Jett a chance for the minutes first, but he wasn't ready. He had some awful sequences.

Nothing that suprising to hear. Weltman says about starting to make win now moves when they actually make sense. It could also be year too early but many impatient people including fans, players and agents make it difficult. Remind me when OKC and Celtics started to make real trades and use real assets ?
Narrative that teams will try to squeeze us is also funny becouse every team tries to squeeze every team and we are not even close to being one of the most desperate teams.

YES!

And I quote, "clearly we need to get better offensively".

Preach!

EDIT: this interview is the most honest and direct I have ever heard PBO Weltman speak. Fascinating interview.

I would be interested in White or Porzingis if they became available. Pritchard too.

Jrue not so purely on age.

They probably want to move Brown. Houston could have some cap room. It's possible they reunite Brown with Udoka.

wrong again :D :D

defensive win shares and Cole gets to play with a defensive minded team and less minutes.

Cole 0.073 in 18.4 minutes
Simons 0.088 in 32.7 minutes

I love the Porzingis idea. Contracts with team options can be traded and Boston gets immediate cap relief by declining the options.

Glad it wasn't just me that got my hopes up. Clarifying also the explanation about wanting a rental during the season and that's why they thought the price wasn't right (not that I agree with the "rental" idea).
Also you can feel the tone in all of them was kinda exciting, ready for the WIN NOW!

I see Black being traded... if he had showcased more playmaking skills i think he would've been off limits. But he has only shown to be defensive player with not much else to offer in other ways. He'd make sense on teams like Chicago or Portland where his mistakes and deficiencies would be overlooked while having more playing time. With this new iteration of the Magic trying to play winning basketball and adding proven vets and play focused/concentrated/complimentary basketball. He doesn't belong on this team.
