I just don't get why Bartlestein wasn't fired.

Dude moved Ayton/Camara for hot garbage.

Jerry Jones at least has multiple super bowls. What exactly has Ishbia accomplished in the nba?

So what I'm getting is that Ishbia put his buddy in charge of the position that ultimately has all the power in every transaction? He might as well be straightforward and make himself the GM instead of trying to act like this guy isn't just his puppet

Saw this on reddit but yeah 100% accurate.

ChampionshipS! He said plural

Depending on what he does this summer, if he screws this offseason up - will be a long time

What do we have left to lose?

The ourselves-screwing has already been accomplished. I don't know if it's possible to make our situation worse.

Might as well try to put a decent team out there, I guess. We're in the doldrums regardless. Maybe we'll play some respectable basketball and perhaps even have a little fun along the way to nowhere.

They could’ve hired a GM from another successful front office with many years of experience as assistant GM instead of Ishbia’s old buddy.

Idk maybe that might’ve been a better move.

Calvin Klein wrote:Who is this Benji Gregory guy?

He's a fellow Michigan alum/ buddy of Ishbia that was an assistant coach for Michigan state during Ishbias' time there. He's also been a coach at South Florida, Georgia Tech and Dayton.

It's been reported that he's been a strong voice in our recent draft acquisitions since Ishbia came on board as owner. Ishbia added Grwgory to our front office on June 10th of 2024. Coincidently, right prior to the 24 draft that he was a significant voice in our draft process that saw us land BOTH Oso Ighodaro and Ryan Dunn.

(AI Overview)

Brian Gregory had a significant voice in the drafting process for the Phoenix Suns, particularly in the 2024 draft, where he was instrumental in the selections of Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro. He also has a strong relationship with Suns owner Mat Ishbia, as they both have ties to Michigan State. Gregory has been with the Suns since last June, and is now being promoted to General Manager.

I just hope that even if they are tryuing to put a decent team out there - when we see the moves we are like "yeah, this makes sense"

Trading Beal for PG13 - thats stupid
Say there are options for Durant either Towns or a good solid package from the Rockets -- take the better trade just not the name

I just want to see a damn vision

So likely a major voice in their 2023 draft (as a key consultant with a Dayton connection)????

Who did we draft again in 2023 thsy just happened to play for Dayton that season and also just happened to fit the exact same archetype as the prospects also chosen the following year in 2024?

But maybe it's just a convenient coincidence and Jones should still get credit for Camara Dunn and Oso by default due to position at the time, even though everything adds up to the contrary!.....

So then add the Orlando Magic to potential teams interested in Durant this summer??
If KD were somehow traded to the magic, what would be the package you guys would want back most??

Jeezus… y’all are just going to dump a bucket of Shtttt on anything that doesn’t fit your myopic agenda? That need not have been a question. Myers was not likely coming here. He is settled into his new gig quite nicely. It was what he was doing prior to GState. Proably fun for him. This job wasn’t all that attractive anyways.

Gregory is a hooper at least. An all conference PG. A decent head coach at times who worked under one of the more successful college coaches in the league. This guy knows basketball. Deserves a chance before you gut and hang him. I got have no problem with MadMat hiring somebody he’s familiar with. WTF were y’all expecting ? Wishbia will meddle… this is his toy. It’s likely they already have their plan forward laid out. In concept/intention.

He can’t do any worse than some of the hairbrainers here.

I have no issues with a our new GM. I just don't get why Bart wasn't shown the door.

Jones has an eye for talent so I can understand a new position. Ultimately I was looking for a fresh start.

Not happening unless KD is moved. Apparently he dislikes CP3 and wanted him gone.

Taliaferro has been a scout for the Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets for multiple seasons. He has 15 years of NBA experience and was an assistant coach at Oklahoma when Blake Griffin was there and coached him for awhile.

Booker played his best with CP3. That doesn't mean Paul will be a good coach.
But I think Booker needs somebody with a little snark around him.
Since Booker is staying - make him the true focal point. Move on from Durant and build around Booker. It worked VERY well one time

Return to Phoenix Suns
