The whole thing is advertising demands in disguise. Behind closed doors advertisers are pressuring the NBA to create a new "face of the league" cause the old guard (who were proven product movers) are aging out and advertisers want something solid if they're gonna buy advertisement long term. That's literally all it us. A bunch of advertising executives forcing the league to create a cash cow and this is the leagues very, very stupid way of going about it.

Ignore anything that has roots in an advertisers office. It'll always be fake, generic and cringe worthy. That's why Ant was like "naw". Ain't nobody tryin to play the puppet like that.
