I think his most impressive feat is still living rent free in so many people's heads as a 40 year old. Most players would be ineffective or retired, but he's still owning some serious real estate.

Hahaha you can’t even defend this performance. The idiotic he’s still a top 10 player despite an absolute sieve defensively. Horrific in so many fourth quarters in this series with one series costing turnover after another.

Incredible player, nice career even if tons of players won titles at his expense. But this face planting is really really bad. To go out with a whimper.

Maybe he’ll have more time to buy real estate since playoff basketball isn’t it anymore

It's telling that the expectations for him are still so high as a 40 year old. That's why he's the GOAT though. He had the 2nd best playoff BPM before tonight.

No other player was expected to play like the #1 player in the league at 40. GOAT expectations for the GOAT player though. Comes with the territory.

Should be a bannable offense to be a Bulls fan and claim LeBron as a GOAT.

Ah yes, we should all shut our brains off and be blind homers. That makes for intelligent discussion.

nobody said play like the #1 player in the league, just don't have multiple games of multiple fourth quarter no shows with turnovers costing your team the series. It's over Taj, second best all time, adding more and more dubious laker records by the day.

You are in absolute shambles right now, the whole series was a nightmare for LeBron. One of the worst defenders in the league.

I mean this is horrific, period

LeBron currently with the 4th highest BPM during these playoffs. Rust Cohle absolutely furious that he's still doing it at the age of 40  it's ok rust, his career won't last much longer.

Ah yes, we should all shut our brains off and be blind homers. That makes for intelligent discussion.

So blind homerism is fine as long as LeBron is its object ?.

Of course not being able to carry a team at age 40 doesn’t dismiss LeBron’s case for being GOAT, but it does reinforce the argument that his statistics past the age of 35 are not particularly meaningful given they have not been in the service of any real contention by the Lakers.

Advantage Kareem.

Is this your new coping mechanism?  Any statistics that don't result in a championship mean nothing  I suppose that's one way of coping with LeBron shattering most records.

You have a habit of getting so worked up regarding LeBron that you say/imply things that I know you don't believe. You're better than this michaelm.

The biggest face plant of the entire 2025 playoffs so far and taj is celebrating it like some massive achievement. He has to do a chatbot at this point.

Only for the GOAT would an average of 25 points 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 41 mpg and 60% TS% at the ripe old age of 40 be considered a "faceplant"

I get it though. You gotta hold the GOAT to GOAT standards.

Now do fourth quarter scoring and turnovers.

It’s oh so quiet.

I forgot points are worth more in the 4th quarter than the first 3  #RustCohleLogic

Bigger gap: Jordan over LeBron or Messi over Cristiano?

Post#1494 » by Gregoire » Fri May 2, 2025 10:13 am

If we talking about peaks and careers, majority fans and observers have Messi and Jordan as GOATs and LeBron and Cristiano are in 2-5 range (with Russell, Kareem, Wilt ect and Pele, Maradona, Cruyff ect respectively). But which gap are wider now : between Messi and Ronaldo or Jordan and LeBron?

Yes, LeBron is better than Jordan, so there is gap between them, but I don't follow soccer closely enough to answer in the Poll.

Messi and Ronaldo are LeBron and Steph, Jordan and LeBron are Maradona and Messi.

Messi over Ronaldo by some distance.

LeBron at least has the longevity argument over Jordan. You can make a legit case for him.
I see them 1A and 1B, to be honest.

Not the case in the other comparison, only delusional Ronaldo fanboys still think Ronaldo has an argument over Messi.

Lebron is better than Jordan by a little.

Messi is better than C. Ronaldo by a lot.

I'd say Messi over the very overrated Ronaldo myself. Messi has won the World Cup, the most converted trophy in all of world sports. Cry baby Ronnie hasn't.

Also I suspect many LeBron Stans are also Ronaldo lovers and I think this thread will be locked soon when it descends onto an utter **** lol

I also pick MJ over LeBron, but the gap is closer
