Tyrese Haliburton's Father Will Not Attend Pacers Games For 'Foreseeable Future'

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 2, 2025 5:09 am

John Haliburton, Tyrese Haliburton's father, will not attend Indiana Pacers home or away games for the "foreseeable future."

The decision comes after a discussion between John Haliburton and the Pacers' front office.

John Haliburton got into a confrontation with Giannis Antetokounmpo following the Pacers' series-clinching win in Game 5.

John Haliburton apologized on social media after the game.

"He needs to just allow me to play basketball and stay over there, and I'll come to him to celebrate," said Tyrese Haliburton. "But the emotions of the game got excited there. I talked with him. I'll talk with Giannis. I don't think my pops was in the right at all there."

We all have one or two embarrassing or immature parents in our lives. I give credit to Tyrese for acknowledging that his dad was wrong.

I'm totally not impressed with how emotionally weak Giannis was about it though. Clearly he was bothered by the loss. He also got into it with Mathurin at the end of the game. Watched the Mathurin replay several times, initially thinking Mathurin instigated but if you watch Giannis initiate the convo he starts with his hand wrapped around Mathurin's head and neck. Leads me to believe Giannis was the instigator trying to physically dominate a conversation. He didn't do this with anyone else on the Pacers.

Either way, I get the situation is lame, but so bad you have to cry about it in the post game?
