You can never have too much pitching. Surprising that Turnbull was available. This is a good move.

Especially when you literally have none of it.

Not sure what took so long but I’m guessing the Jays have figured out Scherzer won’t be pitching too much this year.

Honestly I'd be surprised if Scherzer pitches for us again. He's done no new treatment since last year when he had this exact same issue. Just taking cortisone shots won't do anything. At most I see him trying a couple more starts and then shutting it down for good.

He's super injury prone too is one of the biggest knocks on him. Hopefully he doesn't fall apart for us right away.

His plan has to be to be on a contender in October. I’m convinced he will make a few starts in July so he can get moved before the deadline.

Seems the Scherzer issue flares up after he makes about 40-50 pitches in a game, based on what he says.

Perhaps using him as a 1-2 inning reliever might be the best way to get any value out of him,

While everyone was thrilled by the signing, the Jays could have spent that 15.5 million much wiser than an injury prone, part-time soon to be 41 year old Starter who you were lucky to get a few quality starts before the July Trade Deadline.

That money could have been spent much wiser to add another quality arm or two in the bullpen, and a different potential 5th Starter. Thankfully, it was only a 1 year commitment for Damaged Goods Scherzer.

Fluharty looks impressive. He's got an odd motion on pitches so need to see if it's effective after everyone gets video on him.

Brutal loss. Completely dominated that whole game until the 9th.

30 pitches with a hit and 2 walks and a generous Stike 3 call… I mean, I’m a bigger Rodriguez booster than the most, but we just needed a different arm in there once the bases were loaded.

Garcia hadn't allowed a run all year, they were obviously gonna ride it out with him.

Yariel has also been pretty bad too. They just didn't have the arms to get through 3 innings today without Hoffman.

Apparently.

I’m the guy that always wants to let the guy who starts the inning finish. I hate the quick trigger. But even I was calling for Yimi’s departure. It was plain.
