Best offers for Bane?

Post#1 » by Mamba4Goat » Sat May 3, 2025 10:14 pm

It seems like folks want to break apart the Griz in favor of better depth/supporting cast. JJJ/Ja are the go to trade options but why not Bane? They have found a good handful of solid dirt cheap young wings to take his spot.

What would be the best $1 for 4 quarters trade for Bane?
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Why would a team like Memphis break Name, a tremendous fit with Ja and JJJ, for depth?

I wouldn't trade him in any way, I think he fits perfectly with JJJ and Ja (who I would consider moving, not because of a lack of level but he is very reckless especially for a team with such a small market and worried about finances). They need a starting small forward (RJ Barrett for Clarke + Konchar + FRP? and a center in free agency.. Capela?

How is Bane as a defender and shot creator?

Looking at his numbers, he’s an above average high volume 3 point shooter and racks up assists.

As long as he’s above average defensively, i could see the Knicks moving Bridges or Anunoby for him. Would likely have to be Anunoby for salary reasons.

The market for Bane has been already tested here. From the Memphis fan perspective, I saw nothing worth discussing beyond probably OG and Suggs.

Suggs for Bane doesn’t really make sense IMO. Memphis needs shooting next to Ja.

The OG thing makes more sense since NY needs more secondary playmaking and Bridges is a natural SF while Memphis can use more size on the perimeter without scarifying shooting.

.

Memphis had shooting next to Ja in Kennard and Bane, arguably best shooters outside you know who. It didn’t work well. Now, they might try to surround him with defence tenacity to allow him to play more of fast-paced transition offence he thrives at in contrast with the half-court one.

In that regard OG is a better fit than Suggs

Thats harder to do in playoffs. Pace generally slows down and you need to execute more in the half court.

I would totally agree if we didn’t have Wells and JJJ as decent starting defenders playing the OG natural position.

I agree, but playoff is also about intense defence more than fun-centic offence. PO also is about clutch, again another area which Ja thrives at.

Which is why from the Knicks perspective brining in Bane as another creator makes sense since we still have Bridges/Hart defending on the perminter.
