2025 Fantasy Trade Thread

Post#1 » by DayofMourning » Mon May 5, 2025 7:01 pm

Since we all like to play GM, Id like to designate a thread to the most realistic or outlandish trade ideas we can fathom.

I was thinking how we might want to max out the return for Herro at its likely peak, and see if we can get a decent return before he and his agent expect some mega contract.

Houston came to mind as a potential destination and Jalen Green might be on the outs.

https://nypost.com/2025/05/05/sports/jalen-green-trade-talk-starts-immediately-after-rockets-loss-with-kevin-durant-intrigue/#:~:text=to main content-,Jalen Green trade talk starts immediately, loss — with Kevin Durant intrigue&text=Jalen Green could be the, season and against Golden State.&text=“Jalen Green%2C I think it's,down on the offensive end.

Herro would be the more valuable at this point coming off an allstar season with a 3 pt win as frosting.

The salaries are close, but what would bring the deal closer to being balanced?

Houston has a bunch of youth and would likely entertain moving a pick.

They get a headier player than Green in Herro and pair him up with his new best friend, Amen. Nice O and D backcourt.

Could we pry away the 2025 lotto they get from PHX. Another pick down the road?

This is as outlandish as I could get. Ill have to ponder some realistic targets but we’re extremely limited relative to what some other teams will be able to offer.

Now thats a roster overhaul.

U know we got the goods on all the G League talent available to add to those two.

Did we give up all our picks in these deals?

For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

So I'm not on the trade Bam train, but if he was to be used in a retool. What do you think of this?

Heat : Dejounte Murray, OG Anunoby, Mitch Robinson

Knicks: Bam/Rozier

Pels: Wiggins

HEat lineup

Murray / Donovan
Herro / Ronbinson/ Pelle
OG / Highsmith
Jovic/Highsmith
Ware/ Mitch

I really liked seeing how easily Jovic seemed to fit with Ware just before he hurt his hand. That's when we really seemed to hit a stride. Would also need to know Murray is healthy

Basically every trade for a star I've seen in the offseason thread can apply to "the most fantasy outlandish trade ideas we can fathom".

For real - I can't even imagine any star trades without laughing at myself and this miserable predicament we're in.

Following the OKC rebuild posted in the offseason thread:

OKC-Bam
MIA-IHart, Topic, 25 Miami pick, 25 Philly pick, 28 OKC/Dallas swap

Why for OKC? They trade IHart and pieces thatve never seen the NBA light for 3 time DPOY and super glue guy Bam.

Why for Miami? Rebuild. IHart and Ware at center is top shelf. Davion and Topic at PG is intriguing. We get our pick back and 2 for the future from teams that are pretty volatile. Philly pick protected top 6 this year, top 4 the next 2 years then becomes a 2nd. That pick will convey and could be a good slot. Dallas swap is risky but could yield a big return with that franchises direction being led by 2 injured horses.

HOU-Herro
MIA-Green, 27 BKN/HOU swap

Why for Houston? They get a high level shooter to help balance their roster. They move the erratic Green who theyd been shopping .

Why for Miami? That Brooklyn pick swap could be gold. Maybe Miami and JGup can focus JGs game and mold him into his best version?

IHart/Ware
Jovic/Keshad
Wiggins/JJJ
Green/Larsson
Davion/Topic

25 Miami pick
25 GSW pick
25/26/27 Philly pick
27 BKN swap
28 Dallas swap

I cant imagine Miami moving Bam, but if they did Id hope it would be for a reset.

We are giving up the best player in this deal, and I think you have to come out with draft assets if thats the value you are giving up.

Roster looks solid as far as balance. Still need that alpha though.

Riles to OKC for Sam Presti + Warriors 20th pick. OKC likes picks lol
Kidding but the biggest change I'd want this offseason is with the GM. The Heat ways of doing things just doesn't work anymore. They need to embrace new ideas

DOM draft plan wouldve had us picking:

1-Flagg. Just had to make the poffs huh? Chit!
2-Harper. Bye Bam.
3-VJ. Bye Herro. Hello PG....*blargh*
14-Asa. Bye Bam part 2.
20-Fleming. Thanks Jimmy!

Harper/Davion
VJ/Larsson
Flagg/JJJ
Jovic/Fleming
Ware/Asa

Its almost too easy guys. Smh.

2 trades

Miami gets trae and liang
Hawks get herro, rozier, and 20th (maybe add a pick swap?)

Miami gets Sexton
Jazz get Duncan + 2nd

Sign brown or Beasley in off season

Trae/DM
Brown/Sexton (6th man)
Wiggins/JJ
Bam/Niang
Ware/Bam

Herro is the much better scorer, but I think this heat roster would operate smoother with a conductor type lead guard.

I wouldn't be interested in that at all. Wiggins and Robinson are fine players but make no sense for a rebuilding team, and JJJ is fine but not a centerpiece for Lauri.

I do think there are deals to be made w/Sexton and Collins that could make sense for both teams (e.g., I suggested Collins + Sexton for Robinson + Rozier + 20).

I wouldn't trade Sexton for a second round pick. Maybe a few second round picks, but not just one.
