Both the Allen and Hunter hit in the air plays not being called fouls is wild. I'm not sure why they're calling this body contact. On the one angle, you can clearly see the defender push Hunter with his left hand before the block.

Shoving guys in the air while they're defenseless is dangerous. Both Allen and Hunter hit the ground hard. The only communication from the Cavs to the league should be in the form of a question: Can we do it too?

For sure, hopefully both guys can play tomorrow, looked painful.jbk1234 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Both the Allen and Hunter hit in the air plays not being called fouls is wild. They also committed several of those offensive fouls on Hunter in transition, idk what that's about. Putting elbows into his chest/neck area.

Re: 2025 Playoffs ECSF: Cavs (1) / Pacers (4) (0-1)
35/36 of Pacer's threes were considered wide open (25) or open (10) while 28/38 were considered wide open (11) or open (17). Ignoring the efficiency between the two bc its night and day and only caring about shot quality.
My eye test was wrong. I was under the impression we were getting similar shot quality from our C&S's.
It makes sense that we had a bad night from range even if it was much worse than it should have been and that they had a great day even though it was much better than it should have been. Wanted to see the stats so I could definitively say Cavs need to change something for game 2. Cavs need to change their defensive coverage for game 2. Pacers were looking for the extra pass every time and Cavs were selling out on the drives.
Cavs also need Garland lol

I didn't think the Cavs would carry over a similar defensive scheme from round 1 but they did, so that is a bit worrisome.ijspeelman wrote:35/36 of Pacer's threes were considered wide open (25) or open (10) while 28/38 were considered wide open (11) or open (17). However, they have today to try and clean it up.
I think it starts with transition, try to clean that up. In the half court we have to surrender the drive.
Also, if Garland can't go again, i personally would start Wade. Merrill ain't it on defense and Okoro ain't it on offense.
This will sound crazy but if Kenny is dead set on keeping Wade with the Ty and Hunter bench unit, then I'd go with Green as my 5th starter. Green is super athletic. I'd give him the 2013 James White treatment. Starts both halfs just to keep the rotation in check and doesn't play much if at all outside of that.

Yeah I didn't understand that either, but clearly we need to start knocking the **** out of some Pacers when they're in the air.

Damn, they were way too physical for us.
Mobley hurt his ankle, questionable for tomorrow.
Hunter dislocated his thumb on his shooting hand in game 1, questionable for tomorrow.
Garland still questionable for tomorrow.
Unfortunately an all too familiar story for the Cavs in the post season.

Lovely and suddenly we can't shoot straight at home while the Pacers who barely finished over .500 on the road can't miss.
I guess this will be the true test of this team ... somehow navigating these injuries to win 4 out of 7.

My guess is he'll try to play in game #2 and with his luck he'll look great for about 5 minutes before he re-tweaks it.

Teams are constantly trying to trick their opponents by saying they have injuries. I hope thats the case with the Cavs bc no Mobley and/or Hunter is not good

Okeke really shouldn't see the floor. I do like the idea of playing Green just to commit hard fouls.

It just sucks because we all know TT is about to get real playoff minutes again if Mobley can't play, which sucks. Toppin gonna run right around him, Bryant can shoot over him.jbk1234 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:We're going to test how good those Green and Okeke signings were lolijspeelman wrote:Teams are constantly trying to trick their opponents by saying they have injuries. He probably will grab a couple offensive boards though, he can't run with the Pacers though.
If they start Wade and Merrill, gonna leave us pretty thin bc idk if Kenny trusts Tyson or CPJ in these situations.

There is some mixed signals on these injuries.ijspeelman wrote:Teams are constantly trying to trick their opponents by saying they have injuries. I hope thats the case with the Cavs bc no Mobley and/or Hunter is not good
Kenny said yesterday in his media availability that Hunter and Mobley are doubtful for today. But Hunter said after game 1, he was ready to go for game 2.
Then Kenny also said Garland wants to play but he doesn't want him out there at 50%/60% because of the pressure the Pacers play with.
Anyway, all 3 carry a questionable tag.

Atkinson's comment was Garland wants to play, but they don't want him out there at 50-60%. It sounds like the safe bet is to wait until Game 3, but you really can't afford to go down 0-2 heading back to Indiana.

I hope the Cavs watched the Denver v. Thunder game last night. Jokic gave a class in how to foul back immediately if the refs are swallowing their whistles. Also, if one of your teammates hits the floor after getting shoved in the air, run up immediately and get in the defender's face.

Yeah, we can't be cordial with these guys. They clearly watched the tape on the 2023 Knicks series and 2024 Magic series. There's a blue print there to rough us up bc we're soft and will get injured.jbk1234 wrote:I hope the Cavs watched the Denver v. Thunder game last night. We're a team of fragile nice guys ...
