Toward the end of the 4th I started to feel like we would close it out.

In a way they got lucky to be in OT or even close at the end ... got the lucky 3 from Brown on a good defensive sequence by us, then a broken play and offensive board

Knicks blew a 6 point lead in OT and then almost again, which is par for the course for us, but we had the upper hand throughout the last 17 minutes

our Giants vs Pats week 17 game????

I said this when we lost to the celtics in OT in the 2nd to last game.

The team got confidence they can beat this team.

Putting up 60 threes and shooting just 25% is mind boggling.

I don't think Boston hacks Mitch next game it doesn't allow them to get into any real flow.

That being said, I must give him kudos for making adjustments and drawing up some nice plays down the stretch as well

Thibs was much better second half. He froze in the 2nd quarter, but pulled himself back together during the third quarter

Brunson and OG were especially brilliant..
The series is not not over but now your boys have what I feared most. Self belief and confidence you can beat us.

Would I be out of line and suggest that was your best playoff win since 1999 ?

Anyhow congrats and all the best. Better team won tonight without question.

We’re just as surprised as you!

Hopefully we’ll have a competitive series to remember. I love the rivalry.

Definitely.

The mental strength and confidence of Brunson, especially in this game reminded me of peak Michael Jordan.

He will be remembered as a Knicks legend

I can only imagine how loud MSG will be for games 3 and 4.

It's wins like tonight that can really change a team and franchise's destiny.

We have a few injuries/unfit players right now (JB, KP and Hauser) which is very worrying.

Series now a legit 50/50 proposition.

Probably Hoops Karma got us in the end with our Hack a Mitch tactic lol

Love the camaraderie amongst the team. Building confidence against them is so important towards shifting the momentum in this series.

It's like a real and present threat to the game itself ... not Boston's fault, I guess, it's what the NBA has pushed for ... rules and all ... but it's basically terrible for the sport

If you're a Boston fan, you love the title yeah, but the whole thing feels like a shooting drill with an occasional predictable drive or whatever to open up the outside -- I mean, that doesn't seem all that enjoyable ... there is no element of surprise

It's just bombs away and it's not as exciting as it sounds

It's just game 1 but dang if the Knicks didn't close it out then there's little to no chance to win the series, now they have a chance to do it. I don't know how many times I've seen an underdog team have the favorites on the ropes for game 1 but not get it done and they miss the opportunity to land the first punch...yet the Knicks got it done...wow. Once Brunson missed the floater I thought they were toast.

Oh...and Thibs has to do the unthinkable...start Mitch...well, maybe not necessarily start him, but he needs to play the beginning of every quarter until the Celtics get into the penalty. This is the only way to get him on the floor for 20ish minutes a game and not have to deal with hack-a-Mitch. Otherwise, it will come back to bite them at some point because it's going to continue to happen.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

If Mitch can defend like he did and Deuce can continue shooting, that will work.
