I don't know how many times I've seen an underdog team have the favorites on the ropes for game 1 but not get it done and they miss the opportunity to land the first punch...yet the Knicks got it done...wow. Once Brunson missed the floater I thought they were toast.

Oh...and Thibs has to do the unthinkable...start Mitch...well, maybe not necessarily start him, but he needs to play the beginning of every quarter until the Celtics get into the penalty. This is the only way to get him on the floor for 20ish minutes a game and not have to deal with hack-a-Mitch. Otherwise, it will come back to bite them at some point because it's going to continue to happen.

couldn't agree more on this. unfortunately, i have a feeling that thibs is going to let it get worse before it gets any better.

What's Thibs been doing all year then?

Why wasn't this an issue last year? Or was it?

It couldn't have been all iShart or something.

Feels like this is a JB and Hart thing. JB is the captain and the favored son of the coach so I can understand guys not wanting to ruffle feathers and point out things these two aren't doing right.

I would think that even Mikal would have issues talking to these 2, let alone OG or KAT (KAT just seems like the type to avoid any negativity within the team), especially when it comes to criticizing Thibs' coaching. I thought Mikal telling reporters that he told Thibs the starters are playing too many minutes was telling; he rather say it to the public than take these guys aside privately.

That is the only way to hang with them, you have to switch and live with the outcome of the iso and not over help or sink to protect the paint.

Tatum is the only player they have that can consistently beat elite defenders in 1 v 1 isolation.

Have to play Mitch more early in the quarters before they are over the foul limit.

correct we might need to adjust a bit and have Mitch come in the game before we get in the bonus.

Obviously Boston won't miss 45 3's again but they had plenty of time to reset & regroup after we tied the game and didn't get it done. They are struggling with injuries & fatigue from long playoff runs/summer basketball, I'm convinced they're human and am not surprised when they miss late in the game. It's the same strategy as the championship Warriors--do everything you can to not let them go on a run and give yourself a chance at the end of the game.

Wasn't KP having issues when he was here with his breathing or suffered from chronic fatigue?

I feel like dude is kinda sickly. This viral issue he's been dealing with has been going on since March.

We could plan on that but if towns gets in foul trouble it can throw the plan off. Precious might end up playing again at some point and hopefully it’s not as disastrous as you’d expect next time

Yeah Tom has gotta be strategic about it since they want to play like bitches.

I don't take Mitch out. Let them rack up fouls, and Mitch develops a rhythm at the line.

Well, you'd hope. When Mitch had to intentionally foul to get out of the game so they stop fouling I had to take a drink.

KAT isn't a thinker he's a doer

So eliminate trying to execute drop coverage or having this guy having to rotate to multiple people. He is actually half decent moving his feet and keeping small guys in front of him.

Yes he get handsy from time to time...but simplify the coverage...if BOS wants to matchup hunt on switches so be it. I will live with step back somewhat contest 3's and live with those results. There will be times it doesn't work but you that is the way to beat them unless you are confident you can execute a matchup zone (which I don't think we can).

Brunson is the only one that shouldn't be switching for the most part unless he can't recover in enough time...so he was showing and recovering which is fine (especially if its vs Jrue Holiday who isn't really a movement shooter like KP or White).

And then whoever is guarding Brown can help close off driving lanes and stunt to help KAT keep Tatum in front of him to deter drives.

II will play with those odds instead of giving him space on drop coverage which we did during the regular season...and you simply can't blitz tatum either. He's too big and will make the right pass and then we would be in scramble to there open shooters which we wouldn't be able to recover from.

Yeah, KAT has to stay out of foul trouble he's too important...but if he does we might just have to play some more precious then we like because Mitch is such a disaster from the line.

I appreciate you fam. You and raja helped get my mind right yesterday. I was kicking bricks out of the patio leading up to this series!! As ugly as that win was, I'm back in it with my team!! I went in rooting and I didn't quit down 20. I was almost ready to call it a night with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. I couldn't let my Celtics fan nephew see me give up!! All grit no quit!! Looks like the ECF is back on the menu boys!! Let's eat!!

Let Precious play regardless. I think his hustle will pay off.

KAT has got to be smarter tho. Hands up and do not lean into anyone. I don't care if someone makes a lay up, we need him on the floor.
