Re: The Bulls should go all in for Zion
So if we want to trade Zion, should we be rooting for Flagg going to NO?

Re: The Bulls should go all in for Zion
The injuries are what they are. Even with his contract being extremely protected, I think there are several questions that are just as concerning as his long-term health:
1. Does Zion love basketball?
2. Will he make better decisions off the court?
3. Does he want to lead a basketball team?
4. Can he lead a basketball team?
It should be very alarming that his story has played out like this in such a small market. I don't get why people think those issues would be less problematic in a big market. Especially a team like Chicago that doesn't really have a veteran team structure.
I don't get the vibe that this is purely about a great player who's had bad luck with injuries. But when you do factor injuries into it, I lean closer to being a hard no on trading for him. There's no window for anything when you're building around a player who's never available.

Then you don’t go after Zion and you pick Cooper Flagg.

Yeah, if the Bulls had the #1 pick, then I think you'd absolutely not be looking at Zion. The spicier question is whether you'd trade the #1 + expirings for Giannis.

It's a huge gamble but i'm so desperate i'm willing to roll the dice and pray he finds Jesus. Welcome back by the way, you've been missed.

Yeah. They have Murphy who can step in for Zion and Missi as their center. It all depends on how Dumars look at it in the end.

In a normal draft with Paolo Banchero going #1 or weak draft with a top 3 of Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr & Reed Sheppard you make the trade and fwiw they will want more then expiring contracts. In this draft you stay put and take the 18 year old generational player.

Milwaukee may "want more" than expiring contracts (everyone wants more in every deal), but I would assume that if you could guarantee them Flagg, you would not actually have to include more than that - if anything, maybe it would be Expirings, Flagg, and one more pick. A guarantee of Flagg is going to be worth a lot more than the uncertain picks that other teams could offer to Milwaukee and may be the only thing that could actually put the Bulls in position to make the best offer.
I'm not a huge college basketball follower, so I have no direct opinion on whether Flagg is a "generational" player, but I've seen lots of pre-draft analysis that does not rate him that highly. It seems he's not a Wemby-level prospect, but is considered a strong #1 pick.

Your looking at the wrong stuff then. Flagg us about the safest "generational" player since Lebron. Wemby is on his own level since he is 7'3" and can play like a guard or play inside like a center. But also has yet to play a minute of playoff basketball, that is not a good team around him and you are always wondering about injuries with him.

Lol, if you're arguing Flagg is the better prospect than Wemby, I'm pretty sure I know who is looking at the "wrong stuff."

You need to read better. I said Wemby is in his own level and i will try and make it more clear. Just his size alone give him an advantage over any other player. Physically he might be the best player ever with everything he can do. Flagg or anyone really cant complete with that. But i was also trying to say he isn't perfect. It hasn't been the smoothest transition relative to expectations. He got off to a slower start then expected this year before turning it on, but his team still isn't that good despite trading for Fox and wasn't going to make the playoffs before they shut him down for the year and at 7'3" you are always wondering about knee and feet issues. If you are rating you probably go 1A LeBron 1B Wemby 2. Flagg. At best his is Larry Bird and at worst he is Scottie Pippen. Pre Duke people wondered if he was going to score enough to be a true #1 but he answered all those questions at Duke. People also thought Ace Bailey might have more upside and they were seen as Flagg 1A Bailey 1B. We know it didn't go great for Ace this year to the point he could drop to 5.

Sounds good.
I think you make that trade if all you are giving up is #1(Flagg) plus expiring contracts for Giannis.

Do you really think Flagg will be a better player than Giannis? When Zion was drafted he was untouchable and now anyone would trade him plus expiring contracts for Giannis. A number 1 pick is always going to be worth more than the player unless that player turns out to be LeBron or Wemby and Flagg while being an excellent prospect is not on that level.

Re: The Bulls should go all in for Zion
I understand keeping Flagg over Giannis due to his age and potential but idk how Flagg and Matas can play together and if they can't. Which one do you choose to keep?
