Why isn’t Kristaps Porzingis getting heat?
This is the playoffs where legends are made. The Jordan flu game comes to mind. You don’t think his diminished self was worth at least 3 points or maybe some inside buckets? That has to affect the moral having one of your best players sit out for an illness.

He's been soft as hell all Playoffs. Borderline liability on both ends. Haven't seen a player shrink like this in the Playoffs in a very long time

Re: Why isn’t Kristaps Porzingis getting heat?
He's been getting heat on the game thread for sure, but generally, if Brunson, Bridges and Anunoby outplay Holiday, Tatum and Brown like they did, it may not matter much what KP does.
But, yeah, we deserve some answers, that was pretty lame all around.

There's a lot that goes on behind closed doors that we have no idea about.
I"m sure that if he could have played, he would have played.
He must have been *really* sick to be sitting out. Plus he wasn't even on the bench in the 2nd half of the game so he must have been in really rough shape.
The Jordan flu game? Ok, so out of the 75 year history of the NBA, there was *one* time a guy was really sick yet still managed to play amazing.
And that 1 player is the GOAT.
So somehow that means that all players should be held to the same standard?
Nah..

We know he’s injury prone. We essentially won a championship without him last year. He’s the third option. 3rd options rarely get the heat (unless you are on a Prime Lebron team lol).
I would like to know what’s up tho

Re: Why isn’t Kristaps Porzingis getting heat?
He's been the most disappointing player by far, and the celtics look better when luke or al are on the floor. Im pretty sure hes the first to go this offseason regardless if the celtics win the title or not

Re: Why isn’t Kristaps Porzingis getting heat?
Horrible look for Porzingis. Did he really bottle it last night because of allergies? lol. No way he is back next season under any circumstances. Too high risk and this season he has been a net negative especially in the postseason.

Re: Why isn’t Kristaps Porzingis getting heat?
I gave him passes because he seems like a good person and teammate, but after last night, no more passes. Get what you could out of him the rest of the playoffs and get what you can get out of him in a trade.
They don't need him to win like they do Jrue. Two totally different animals.

Re: Why isn’t Kristaps Porzingis getting heat?
With confirmation that last night's illness was related to the one he had in March, I think it's time to assume we won't have an effective Porzingis the rest of the way. There's no quick fix for a virus that has apparently been an issues for two months. Weird situation and I suspect its being looked at by doctors/specialists outside the Celtics organization.
As bad as he's been, it may just be better for the team to shut him down. Has no strength or energy.

He’s been terrible this playoffs. But we were up 20 in the third without him. He deserves scrutiny. Others deserve it more.

When healthy he’s a tremendous asset for us. The problem is he’s never unhealthy. I don’t doubt he has a virus or something that is sapping his energy and it must suck for him right now. Because i know he loves being on this team snd wants to contribute. So we need to be patient and hope for the best. Maybe he can win us a game or two along the way

They need to move Glasszingis in the offseason when they make salary cuts. He can’t be counted on when it counts.

Ahem
Kristaps Porzingis returned to play in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, despite having a rare left leg injury that would require surgery. He reportedly overrode the Celtics' medical staff to get on the court, playing 16 minutes and helping the team win the championship. Porzingis would later undergo surgery for the injury.
Here's a more detailed look at the situation:
The Injury:
Porzingis suffered a rare displaced tendon injury in his left leg during Game 2 of the Finals.
Medical Advice:
The Celtics' medical staff recommended against him playing, given the severity of the injury and the need for surgery.
Porzingis' Decision:
Porzingis reportedly told the Celtics he was willing to "die on the floor" to win the championship and wanted to play despite the injury and medical recommendations.
Game 5 Return:
He did play in Game 5, contributing 16 minutes and helping the Celtics win the championship.
Post-Game:
Porzingis acknowledged the support of the medical staff, but also emphasized his own determination to play despite the injury, according to CBS News.
Didn't he also get his head bashed in the other night getting bloodied up and big bandage covering the gash requiring stitches?

He is sick. He’s been terrible. There is something wrong with him physically that is gonna take a long time to figure out.
He has been so bad it is clear there is something wrong there physically.
This isnt playing hurt or diminished like Brown (knee) or Tatum (wrist) or holiday (hamstring).
Those are injuries and expectation is to be able to play through that.
But viral illness? It comes and goes. Sickness like this is something you can’t play through. I bet he is dealing with Some vertigo too and is vomiting.

Re: Why isn’t Kristaps Porzingis getting heat?
Other than the game against ORL where he weirdly had 5 steals(?) he is seriously out of rhythm/out of synch. Not just in terms of shooting, but everything. Rebounding, moving, moving his hands, standing -- listen, I'm 48yo and still try to play basketball in earnest so I absolutely know that feeling sometimes, but ain't no one pay me $30M to try to stand and move my hands in a coordinated fashion.
Until this last month or so, I've never seen him not play well for us. I mean sometimes he hits more 3s than others, but this is weird. Whatever he's dealing with, I hope it resolves soon and he can get back to trying to avoid normal (or exceptionally rare) lower body injuries.
