All the teams that had a week off lost. I’m less concerned about this loss than I am about Porzingis. He played poorly against Orlando and this feels like he will be out a while

Celtics won a championship without Porzingis last year.

I like KP, probably everybody does. But I am tired of his health issues. He's often injured. If he is not injured, he is sick. If he is neither, he gets somehow bashed on the floor, bleeds, goes to the locker room, comes back etc. He is like a BMW 7 series. He goes great when he goes, but often, he does not. We need Toyota Land Cruisers on this rough terrain, not luxury sedans. I would trade him, look for a young Al Horford.

We need him healthy against the Cavs. We can’t rely on Kornet as the main back up against Mobley and Allen. Also, KP played well on both ends against those two previous game.

Trade him for who? If healthy, he is borderline all star. At his height and length, he has the ability to alter shots inside. Almost all good teams have a decent 7footer in the lineup. If any, we should find a horf replacement. He might retire if we lose bad this year.

The Celtics were very passive last night and the Knicks were mostly the aggressors , that needs to change moving forward but this team always does it the hard way

Well they hit any threes they win by 20. That being said if you need to stop a run you have to stop being cowards when the 3 ball isn't dropping.... AKA the J's especially Tatum. He has a few every series of total Charmin soft ball.

It's just depressing. The fact that the Celtics think what we saw last night is good basketball is just depressing.
In every single facet of playoff bball, from working together to outsmarting the opponent, from the great plays pumping up the energy of the crowd to the respect for the game from doing stuff that increases the likelihood of winning the game...
last night was gross and miserable

The amount of bad 3pts we shot and how badly the shot selection (stagnancy & isolation) threw off the rhythm of the game and we do not make any adjustment to find a solution
and, as a matter of fact, it's like, "solution???! why would we want a solution???" because we don't even understand that it's a problem.

It is literally insane to shoot 60 attempts in a playoff game, it is absolutely maniacal to shoot 19/20 attempts in a quarter are 3pt attempts. Like it's embarassing that they don't see in the moment how badly the game flow is malfunctioning.

I thought we played like crap all night, even when we'd built a lead, and still if just one of the missed open shots had gone down at any point in the game, we'd have won in regulation even playing like crap all game. I wish Game 2 was tonight to wash away the stink.

Pride goeth before a fall." Proverbs 16. They did not play well, and neither did the Knicks until the third quarter. Then at the end, Tatum thought he could do it all by himself.

NY missed 15 FTs. They would have won easy if they make half of those misses.

Read all the posts. Yes, losing sucks. And it happens. But some don't seem to understand what is pissing off many of us. It's not the loss,

BUT THE MANNER WE LOST !!

A loss like that would bother me/us in the regular season as well, but in the playoffs?? It's inexcusable. And any negative notions or narratives about Tatum, KP or Coach Joe were given a major boost.

Like it or not.

Will JT do anything different than take a step back 3 to try win a game? I mean, Brunson almost got a layup to win in regulation. Too bad your star player doesn’t have the handles of a guard, or ability to get to the basket, or just stop on a dime, and take that mid range. Like all of us knew he would take that 3ball step back.

Exactly!
No sense or urgency. No killer instinct. No pride at all. Do they think Brunson and the knicks would just fold???
It’s hard to win a series, and this was a wasted opportunity to get ahead. Up 20 with 5mins remaining in the 3rd smh still pissed. Whats worse, nobody on the team seems pissed they lost. Its ok to lose in a grind it out game, but not this one.

Yes, but Jaylen Brown is compromised he has no hops and Jayson Tatum wrist is bothering him because he shoots a bunch of 3's because doesn't want to get smacked on the wrist in the paint. It isn't last year anymore.

Tatum has a wrist issue scoring 35 points 3 straight games before last night and like 5 days rest lol he has playing soft settling for 3's issue.

Mazzulla's lack of in-game adjustments haunting the team like in '23, blowing leads to inferior teams. Obviously, Tatum imploding down the stretch also a factor but sometimes you need a coach to take control and he's not that guy.

All though I agree last night sucked, that is plenty of time to cut into a 20 point lead.
