Round 2: GS Doves

I might have underestimated Golden State. I felt we would beat them pretty comfortably but I am seeing some good analysis of why they should be really tough and could beat us. They also did beat the number 2 seed and Houston was a damn good team. I still feel confident in this matchup but I don't want to be blindsided again like I was with Dallas. I seriously thought we were going to destroy Dallas last year and I was horribly wrong.

I agree. I'm confident, but Kerr outcoaching Finch, Curry/Butler, along with Draymond baiting our guys to lose their cool(Rudy, Jaden, Julius, Naz and Ant all have a tendency to go braindead for stretches) leave a good amount of doubt and worry in my head. I think Curry and Butler being banged up is also something to consider. I hope we really come out with a lot of intensity and physicality, especially since GS will have tired legs.

Only idiots overlook any of the final 8 teams playing for the title. Wolves will not overlook them, but should play with confidence.

I so much rather would have faced Houston.

GS just has so much experience, anything can happen.
We are better and deeper on paper, but that is worth nothing.
Ends of games are torture as long as old man Curry is still able to shoot.
And you never know which side of the scale Silver and his Legion of fixers will put the finger on.

Houston has a lot of young and talented defenders, but they have guys you can exploit and take out of the game a lot easier, especially Brooks and Jalen Green.

This series will be a big challenge for the coaching staff.
We have a massive size advantage, but the Warriors dominated game 7 against Adams and Sengun with a super small lineup.
I think we have a pretty good handle on the sets Kerr likes to run, and we have enough wing size and strength to neutralize Butler.

It will be interesting to see how they deploy Draymond defensively and who they decide to make beat them between Rudy and Randle.
If I had to guess I would say they end up playing a pretty tight shell around the box and make us shoot a ton of 3 pointers.

If they put Jimmy on Ant as expected their low man defenders in the screen game are going to be incredibly weak since they won't play Kuminga.
Curry, Podz, and Hield are not stopping anyone in the paint and Jaden, Julius, and Rudy should be able to feast in the paint off of closeouts and ball reversals.

If we win the turnover and rebounding battles the same way as we did in the Lakers series, we should win this series in 5 minimum barring some truly horrible shooting. But that's still a big if.

While some "upsets" may happen along the way, I personally won't be very surprised if any of the remaining eight (8) teams wins the Title.

Why do we have to start every single game 8:30 or later when we are used to starting our games at 7 PM?
Especially at home.

Despite the horrific 3 pt shooting & Warriors shooting well from 3, Wolves still ended up shooting better from field than Warriors because of how much better Wolves 2 pt% was than Warriors. Just need to find the 3 pt shooting touch back

Jaden was 6 of 9 from inside the arc, so of course we don’t feed him more often. NAW has been so bad I think we may see him fall out of the rotation. Donte, Mike, NAW combined for 3 of 19 and 7 points. Think about how much of the backcourt rotation that encompasses. Ant contributed 9 of 22 for 23 points. Put together our back court had 30 points on 12 of 41 from the field. They also hit 2 of 16 from deep. Well played guys, well played.

I take all blame for the loss of game one. I fell asleep and just woke up when it was over or ending. I watched on NBA.com without spoiling the result, but one thing quickly became obvious. We Are CHOKING. We are so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up our collective asses a diamond would come out.

Frustrating performance to watch. However, there wasn't anything that GS did to really affect the wolves to me. The wolves just simply missed a ton of (mostly) open shots and didn't play their style. This series will be decided by the wolves win or lose. Without Curry, the wolves should end this in 5 but it's the wolves so who knows what we'll get.

Secondly, what in the world did Clark do behind the scenes to not get any run?? Didn't he make a huge impact on Finch and became a guy he could trust? I know you want to play Naw and politics may be involved but my goodness.

Also, what did TSJ do to not get a second stint?

I read he's estimated to miss 3 games. Not sure how valid that is but time will tell. Wolves HAVE to take advantage.

The team has usually struggled with changing a scouting report mid-game. Some of that is on the coaches (and specifically Finch), but there's also some of that to put on the players (which includes Ant).

Dane, Kyle and Britt talked about some of this in their postgame pod: it could seem from the outside like there is a disconnect between Finch and Ant after the game. Finch had pointed criticism for Ant, but Ant was like "I don't see it that way." I would be more concerned if this hadn't been a theme at moments across the first four years of them together. Ant regularly misses little things over the course of a game, and he doesn't recognize it until film study. I think we'll see a different Ant next game after he watches the tape.

When Curry left with injury, the scouting report changed. But if I were to guess, a number of the mistakes over the course of the last three quarters came from deferring to the original game plan as opposed to the game plan after Curry left.

I still can’t believe they shat the bed so badly in game 1. Things just seemed to go from bad to worse when Curry went out and of course the wolves dumb coach had no adjustments or solutions.
