Knicks fans just told me that Brown and Tatum are as good as KAT and Brunson and they implied that their team has been better all along. Not sure but I’ll refrain from discussing b-ball with them.
Good assessment:

Nothing has ever suggested that KAT and Brunson are CLOSE to Tatum and Brown, yet better?
As for the games, yea, let's see, I'm hoping Porzingis can step. His weird injuries and this illness which has been ongoing for 2-3 weeks is bothersome and he's lost rhythm. This should be a really good series for Kristaps, KAT can't defend a chair, he's really flat footed, Knicks aren't that great on defense, etc, etc.

tonight is the biggest Celtics game in a long while
MUST WIN
personally, as a fan, if they come out and shoot 60 3pointers again
meaning they have leaned entirely into analytics alcholism again
meaning, "we played better in gm 1 but got unlucky with our shooting outcomes"
i'll be absolutely morose, lol, that they have learned nothing
and the JT+JB era is one and done as far as chips
i'll just be bummed out

Not surprised about what they said.

The 3pt shooting does not scare me.

I'm more scared about zoya's post about no defending champ has gone past the 2nd round since 2020.

Really need to shoot at least 65 threes this game if we want to have any hope of tying up this series.

Legler @ 2:29

"What the Celtics did in game one was an insult to basketball"

"you can't play this way offensively while the lead is slipping away and not get to a mid-range jumper, something at the rim or free throws. It's embarassing! YOU tailor-made the environment for the Knicks to do what they did to you. This is on the Celtics, I was disgusted by the display."

phincsfan wrote:No need for Joe to do hack a Robinson also. That wasn't the reason they got a 20 point lead, but it did really muck things up for any type of groove during that 1st half.

I hope you don't do it again and it's questionable whether it helped or hurt the first time you did it, but Hack-a-Mitch was definitely a successful strategy for you in the 2nd quarter. Getting Robinson...who was a +13 on the night and might have bolstered our defense right as you were making your run...out for Achiuwa...who racked up a -7 in just 5 minutes...since Towns was already in foul trouble.

You may still have gone on your run with Mitch in there, but Precious is a significant downgrade...especially when he doesn't know that he'll get big minutes even if he does something super-dumb...and Mazulla successfully forced Thibs to play Achiuwa over Robinson at that point in the game, like he wanted.

Anyways hoping this series stays as exciting as game one, even if I'm worried that you will come for blood & blow us out in this one.

Biggest game since game 3 against the Cavs last year. Celts split the first two at home. Though they swept the Pacers in the ECF 3 of those games were scary. Andrew “Jordan” Nembhard. Nothing ever seemed in doubt against the Mavs.

Celtics volume of three pointers has always been an issue. It's the Celtics chosen style of play. If the Celtics shoot the 3ball very poorly they can lose to the Wizards, Jazz or Knicks in Game 1 of the Semi Finals. 25% 3ball shooting in Game 1 against the Knicks, 25% 3ball shooting in Game 3 against the Magic. Celtics lost both games by 2 points and 3 points. The good thing is it doesn't happen that often.

Don't jump off the NBA Finals train.

It's great news right? No, because their first practice, today's at seven :banghead: :banghead:

Celtics will go down 0-2 tonight if they once again attend over 50 to 60 3 point attempts. I wonder if this team practices shooting 2 point jumpers during practice.

That's not really a thing though. 5 years is not much to go on. Especially when you consider the fact that this Boston squad is the only one out of those past 5 that anyone would consider to have potential to be a dynasty.

Return to Boston Celtics
