This kid going to hit 30 bombs this year?

How many 30 HR hitters will the Cubs have this year? 6?

Tucker
Busch
PCA
Suzuki

Don’t think Happ or Dansby will do it. Think King Tuck will get 40+ though

Don't count out Shaw yet. PCA didn't start playing well until his second call up. I believe Shaw will figure it out.

3B has been a defensive disaster since he went down. He will play a solid 3B and get a lot of walks once he’s back. He said over the offseason he worked on starting his someone earlier ti be ready for the increase in velocity in the majors. Said he overdid it and it threw off his timing. He’s now barely starting earlier and everything is getting synced up.

He will be back and stay up. I expect him to be similar to PCA last year. Struggle figure it out and hopefully by end of season he’s starting to hit league average. He’s always been a 40 games to figure it out guy at each level.

We still have Mo raking too. He will be up when someone gets injured.

We're the best offensive and defensive team in MLB . Now if we can only get this pitching thing down .

Losing Steele hurt but Rea and Boyd have been great. I expect Horton to be up this summer and Rea or Brown then go to the bullpen which helps a lot.

Also think Jed will go all in and trade Cassie Alcantara and Wiggins for an elite starter or closer.

I can't remember the last time the Cubs were this good. I don't even remember them being this dominant in 2016. Of course it's only May 3rd. But man oh man are they playing well. They're leading the NL in OPS. PCA looks incredible. Not long ago people were saying he'd never be much at the plate.

Cubs lose today but win another series.

The big L is Shota going down with a hammy. That’s at least one month and 5-6 starts.

Wicks has been bad at Iowa. You’d think Horton would be the guy.

Cubs were more dominant back in 2016 at least pitching wise with a strong starting by rotation and bullpen with Chapman closing. Hitting wise, this year’s team is better hands down.

I think Hoeton will be called up soon but for it's Gavin Hallowell, I believe.

Horton needs to build up his pitch count before getting the call. I'm thinking post All-Star break before it's even an option.

His count is up to 80 now. Most SP don’t even throw that many out he’s anymore.

Up 4-2 against the Giants. Great to see Dansby on track.

PCA is doing what I thought he’d do once he hit some HRs… think he’s a HR hitter and swing out of his shoes. He’s not striking out but he missing some hittable pitches.

He will adjust and probably 50 games from now hit more for average, get some walks, and still hit bombs.

Fly the W!

Giants beat themselves with those 4 errors and the Cubbies played superb D.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but the Cubs are hitting a bit of a rough patch, or so it feels like. The bats getting a bit quiet was bound to happen at some point, but the bullpen has obviously been problematic since the start of the season.

I was hoping that when they got Merryweather back they'd be solid, but nope. The one guy they trust to be closer just gave up 8 runs which IMHO is unacceptable. And if we were to press the panic button right now and do something about it, we dont have any good replacements. I love Hodge as a setup guy, but I don't think he's quite ready to be closer.

We need better pitching all around. For starters I think this is a great opportunity for Horton to get a chance in limited innings. But we absolutely need to trade for more bullpen depth at the very least

You definitely were overreacting. It was one game. One inning to be specific. I will say that Pressly is def a problem. His metrics are absolutely horrible. He has the highest barrel rate in baseball and almost no swing and miss.

The Cubs lost a series. That happens.

Fun win for the Cubbies after dropping 3 in a row.

Horton with a good debut. Hung a slider and gave up the 3 run homer. He will learn. Kid seems like a gamer.

Turner is washed. We need to move on. Bring up Long to play 1st and be the right hitter. Great on base and hitting. Would be a big improvement. I bet Counsel gives Turner 10 more games to turn it around.

Mo Baller is getting promoted. He'll likely get sent back down when Happ returns from the IL. Pretty exciting.
