If they lose this series my money is on Pierce bringing up Porzingis never being available the last two seasons. He won’t hold back. That will tell me if that was real locker room talk.

Looks that way. I haven’t been impressed by his offense since 2023. It feels like he’s gotten a lot slower since the 2022 finals run. He almost never sprints up the court on offense or defense. And really Tatum has no bag besides shoot threes or drive all the way in. His midrange is not there at all, if he ever makes one it looks difficult. Hell Devin Booker can make midrange shots look easy and he’s smaller.

So disappointing what he’s shown this series. If he played a C game, the Celtics would be up 2-0 instead it’s an F

Tatum doesn’t have a pull up jumper. Even against smaller defenders, he takes ugly turn around fade aways. Totally unnecessary. and he’s not even that good of a shooter.

The thing I don’t understand about Tatum is he’s just reverted back to 2022 finals Tatum.

Completely afraid of attacking the hoop, settling for a ton of shocking shots.

OG is a very good defender but he’s never bothered Tatum like this.

He's completely shook up right now.

His only hard drive to the hoop was the dunk with like 14 seconds to go. He could get that sort of stuff all game.

We may have won the title but since 2022 it’s been a heap of shocking playoff losses caused by the exact sort of rubbish we saw tonight.

Tatum and Brown simply aren’t smart basketball players when it matters most.

Mazzulla allows leads to dwindle far too many times without changing the lineup losing the lead. It is fine in the regular season but unacceptable in the playoffs but he is stubborn and keeps doing it. This is not a team with clutch players that will do well in close games. You blow a big lead, give the other team momentum and you will lose the game. Simple as that.
Edit: Extend Mazzulla

Grow a pair and spin toward the rim. Same with Porzingis. You're the tallest player on the court and usually have a MUCH smaller player switched to you on defense. Instead of doing so much spinning around, letting the help defense come. just rise up and shoot over the top as soon as your catch it, especially if you're in the paint. Just not smart basketball.

Tatum is just too slow when he has the ball. It’s never quick when he has the ball. It has to involve a lot of dribbling and other crap. Why can’t he just get the ball and go quick with the ball with force. There’s literally no point in him getting all those muscles if he can’t draw fouls and chuck threes

Tatum's star status is completely taking a nose dive. It may never recover if we lose this series.

He loooks shell shocked. Especially for someone who wants to be the guy

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Celtics need a real PG that can pace the game. The constant walking the ball up the court just plays into the Knicks (or any other team’s) hands

Idk if he’s slow footed or he has horrible handles or whatnot. Was pierce a better athlete or where they the same?

Pierce understood the value of catching the ball at the mid post or at the elbow. Tatum is too slow to take it from the top against a set defense with the game on the line.

C's lack of planning, direction, timeouts, and play calling in clutch situations has doomed them in games 1 and 2.

Send Joe to the locker room with ~35 seconds remaining in each game, and we are probably up 2-0.

I will give the Cs the benefit of the doubt until Game 3 and maybe Game 4.

If the Cs can get this back to Boston at 2-2, it will be a different series.

The alternative is being negative and thinking of all the bad things that's happening is just not good for the health.

Get real. I will be watching on saturday but if they get swept it will be an indictment on this group. The Knicks have done nothing special here. All they have done is be in the game and watch the Celtics gag in the end. Seriously this group of this continues will be unforgettable despite their title and Tatum has been a complete zero. Awful shooting!!!! Even in the Orlando series they didn’t shoot the ball all that great.

It looks bad because it is bad. Boston is not coming back after losing the first two games at home.

Wouldn’t surprise me if New York blows them out next game

Yeah it’s awkward. I’m sure if Isaiah Thomas guarded Tatum in the post, JT would somehow make it look difficult and will fall to the ground somehow making the shot look impossible. It’s funny cause rookie Jayson Tatum had that midrange bag but I don’t know wtf happened to all that since

we lost a game tonight, it happens.
the series should be 1-1

game 1 literally chucking 3's to the extent of suck record-breaking failure that national media people like Legs were calling the Celtics "an insult to the game of basketball"
is just absolute disrespect to the spirit of the game and you can't disrepect the game like that

Jayson Tatum coming up small important Playoff games in year 8 after the ridiculous amount of experience he has is embarrassing. It is a personality/mental make up thing at this point. Either way, what a failure all around by the defending champions lol

Sadly, Tatum is a mental midget. He keeps talking about Mamba Mentality (pardon the reference), but he doesn't show it in his game.
